Chapter 19: Chapter 19: Teacher, let me explain!

Upon hearing Di Mingjue’s name, Gu Qibao shrunk her neck, "No, Aunt Fang, you don’t have to go to that trouble."

"Then you could come eat at my place every day," Fang Hao suggested.

One candy-coated bombshell later, Gu Qibao nearly collapsed; upon considering her beautiful late-morning slumbers, she wisely declined, "No need, Aunt Fang. I need to attend class now, so I’ll hang up now. Bye."

Having ended the call, Gu Qibao felt a surge of pride for having subdued the temptation of delicious food.

But after declining, she realized she’d forfeit these daily feasts. She felt inexplicably upset about it, even though she knew it was a silly thought.

Class began before she could finish eating. She regretfully put the lunch box in her drawer, but midway through class, she felt an itch - a little nibble wouldn’t hurt, right?

With that thought, Gu Qibao stealthily reached into her desk, cautiously observed her surroundings, and quickly bit into the food when the teacher wasn’t looking.

It was so delicious that she got carried away, forgetting everything else.

Just as she was thoroughly enjoying her meal, she realized someone was standing in front of her. Reacting instinctively, she hurled her pastry at them.

The math teacher standing in front of Qibao had a face as dark as charcoal, adorned with cream and cake crumbs.

"Gu Qibao, get out!" The math teacher’s roar echoed across the classroom.

"Wait, teacher, you have to let me explain!"

"Out!"

Gu Qibao was sent out to stand as punishment. Before she left, she mourned for her little cake - how could she have impulsively tossed such a delicious dessert onto the math teacher’s face?

What a pity!

Standing outside the classroom leaning against the wall, she looked around out of boredom. Suddenly, she saw a group of people coming her way, talking as they walked.
