After sending me home yesterday night, Tristan texted me again not to overthink things. That made me feel more reassured that there was truly nothing going on with him and Kate.

That led me to feel better the next day.

With that, I walked into the office with my head held high. I was determined to focus on my work and redirect my vision with the Zinnia, but as I entered the office, my steps slowed instinctively.

Instead of an empty office, I was met with four familiar faces.

My gaze flickered briefly toward Rocco, who was standing near the side of the room. The moment our eyes met, he looked away quickly, then stepped closer to me.

“I tried to stop it,” he whispered under his breath.

I tilted my head slightly.

He swallowed.

“However, they insisted,” he muttered. “They said it was important. I’m sorry. I couldn’t stand against them.”

I hummed softly in understanding.

I straightened my posture and walked toward the front of the room, placing my files neatly on the table.

“Well,” I said lightly, turning to face them fully. “This is unexpected.”

Andrew leaned back in his chair, a faint smirk playing on his lips.

“Surprised?” he asked.

“Not particularly,” I replied calmly.

Serena crossed her legs elegantly, her gaze sharp as it settled on me.

“We thought it would be best to discuss things properly,” she said.

“Properly,” I repeated, nodding slightly. “That’s good. I prefer things done properly.”

Marcus didn’t say anything. He just stared at me.

There was something dark in his gaze, but I ignored it.

Andrew leaned forward slightly, resting his elbows on the table.

“Let’s not waste time,” he said. “Let’s scratch the Zinnia concept. Instead, I believe it would be better if you collaborated with Hale and King through Serena and Marcus.”

There it was.

My lips curved into a faint smile.

“Is that so?” I asked.

“It is,” he said confidently. “You’re pushing a concept that clearly lacks direction.”

Serena nodded in agreement.

“We can refine it,” she added smoothly. “Turn it into something more… marketable.”

I let out a soft hum.

Marcus finally spoke.

“You don’t have to do everything alone,” he said, his tone surprisingly more determined than I expected.

I looked at him, then tilted my head slightly to the side.

“Is that concern I hear?” I asked lightly.

His jaw tightened.

Rocco shifted beside me.

“I’m sorry,” he whispered again.

I gave him a small nod, signaling that it was fine.

Then I turned my attention back to the three of them.

“I see,” I said.

I let a small smile form on my lips.

“Well then,” I continued calmly. “Since we’re discussing collaborations…”

I paused.

“Tristan Hale has already proposed a better plan for the collaboration with Hale,” I said.

Their reactions were priceless.

I smiled slightly wider.

“If you think Miss Florence is not considering all options,” I continued, “then you’re wrong.”

I took a step forward.

“You cannot coerce her into taking up your offer,” I added, “when it’s merely half–assed.”

I watched as their expressions turned sour.

Andrew’s smirk faltered. Serena’s eyes narrowed. Marcus looked furious.

I held their gazes without flinching.

I thought Serena would play it smart and keep it polite and professional. After all, we were in

the office. However, it seemed she wasn’t afraid to show her true colors.

“What would you do,” she said slowly, “if Miss Florence knew about this?”

My brows lifted slightly.

Interesting.

“My mother knows Miss Florence personally,” she added.

Rocco frowned. Meanwhile, I almost laughed.

Gosh, they still didn’t know that this–all of this–was mine.

The thought was really amusing.

“If the owner finds out,” Andrew added, his smirk returning, “that you’re prioritizing your boyfriend’s offer over everything else…”

I forced a look of surprise onto my face.

“Boyfriend?” I echoed.
