Chapter 109 Drop It
WILLOW

We had scheduled the announcement for a new launch, where other companies were projected not to release anything. The King Company just launched a new shoe a week ago, so another announcement was highly unlikely.
However, here it was, and I was reading it.
“They just announced a new luxury bag line,” I muttered.
Tristan frowned and moved closer to me so we could read the post together.
My grip on the phone tightened as my eyes moved down the post.
The face of the campaign was Serena. I scrutinized all of the details and froze when I saw a familiar name.
The bag was designed by none other than Andrew Petrov.
$4
“What the hell?” I muttered under my breath.
My chest felt tight, but I forced myself to keep reading, to keep looking, to understand exactly what I was dealing with.
They already had a teaser image up–a product shot. I brought the phone closer to my face to get a better look.
My heart dropped.
Because I knew that bag.
I knew every line of it.
Every curve. Every detail. Every decision that went into it.
“No way,” I whispered.
I zoomed in, my fingers trembling slightly despite how hard I tried to steady them.
There was no mistaking it. It was the exact design I had drafted weeks ago for Zinnia.
“Did something worse happen?” Tristan asked.
I didn’t answer. I just turned the phone toward him.
His brows furrowed the moment he saw it.
I watched his expression shift as he processed it, the recognition hitting him instantly.
He had seen my drafts. He knew.

“How did this happen?” he asked quietly.
“I don’t know,” I said, my voice tight.
My mind started racing.
“This wasn’t the design I showed Andrew team,” I continued. “I’m sure of it.”
I replayed everything in my head.
“Andrew has never seen this version,” I said firmly.
Tristan didn’t interrupt. He let me think.
“The only people who knew about it…” I trailed off.
I listed them mentally.
Tristan.
The core team.
“Could it be Rocco?” Tristan asked.
“No,” I said immediately.
I shook my head.
“No,” I repeated. “It’s not him.”
It could not be him. I refused to believe that.
“Then who?” Tristan asked.

I pressed my fingers against my temple, forcing myself to think past the anger and shock that ran through my veins.
There had to be a gap–a moment or a person.
I went through everything again.
After a while, it finally hit me.
My eyes widened slightly.
*Fuck,” I cursed under my breath.
Tristan leaned closer, pressing a quick kiss to the top of my head.
“You know?” he asked.
“I know who it is,” I said.

I was already seated when Kate arrived.
Tristan insisted I meet her here, in his cafe, where he could keep an eye on things without hovering too much. He said it would prevent any unnecessary complications. He even closed it for the day just so we could have this conversation.
I sat in my usual seat, my phone on the table, my mind already ten steps ahead.
When the door opened, I looked up.
Kate walked in, scanning the room until her eyes
landed on me.
She smiled–soft and bright like usual.

She walked over quickly.
“You called?” she said.
I didn’t smile back.
“I asked for your number from Tristan,” I said.
Her expression lit up even more, if that was possible,
She looked too happy.
