Chapter 110 Real Colors Revealed

Kate didn’t react the way I expected. She stood up abruptly, her breathing growing uneven, and her shoulders trembling as though she had just been deeply wounded.
Then, she started crying.
It was the kind of cry that demanded attention.
Before I could even process it, she moved straight toward Tristan.
“Tristan-”
She reached for him, her hands grabbing his arm like he was the only thing keeping her together.
I watched, unmoving for a second. However, when she tried to hug him, that was my last straw. I grabbed her wrist and shoved her back to create distance.
“What are you doing?” I asked, my voice cold.
Kate stumbled slightly, her eyes widening as though she could not believe what I had just done.
With that, her crying got worse, making my head throb.
“Tristan,” she sobbed, her voice breaking in a way that would have fooled anyone who did not know better. “Your girlfriend is being mean to me.”
I stared at her, unimpressed.
“I just had an accident when I came here,” she continued, clutching her arm like she was still injured. “And you know that I was sick.”
I did not miss the way she leaned toward him again, trying to pull him back into her space. Trying to make him choose.
Tristan exhaled sharply, running his hand through his hair.
“You were sick, Kate,” he said. “But that was because you decided to donate your kidney to your brother.”
I frowned in confusion.
Donate-
“I supported you back then,” he continued. “And then your brother went ahead and stole some designs for the car seats and turned them into his own bags.”
My head snapped toward him. What? My chest tightened as everything started connecting at once.
I turned to Kate slowly.

“You told me.” I said, “that you donated your kidney to Tristan’s grandfather.”
Kate froze for a split second. Then she shook her head quickly, like she could shake off the truth.

“My brother is not me,” she said through her tears, which had not stopped since the very beginning. “I didn’t do anything.”
“Tristan,” she continued, turning back to him, desperation creeping into her voice. “We loved each other.”
I felt Tristan’s arm tighten around me slightly.
“Just because she was with you when I was gone,” Kate added, her voice rising, “does not mean that you forgot about me.”
I felt my jaw clench. “Serena said you only like her because she looks like me.”
Everything was starting to line up, piece by piece, like a puzzle I did not want to finish.
Tristan let out a long breath, his patience thinning.

After that, he stepped forward and pushed her. It wasn’t too hard, but it was enough to break whatever performance she was trying to hold onto.”
“That’s not the truth.”
“I genuinely liked you back then,” he continued. “But it was Willow that I loved first.
Kate’s face went blank.
I looked at Tristan, something warm settling in my chest despite everything happening around us.
He did not hesitate.
He did not waver.
He chose me.
Kate, on the other hand, looked like she was about to explode.
Her eyes darkened, her lips pressing into a thin, furious line.
“You might think that I picked her because of you,” Tristan went on, “but I chose you because of her.”
“Asshole!” Kate snapped, her voice cutting through the air.
Tristan ran his fingers through his hair again, clearly done with whatever game she was trying to play.
“Am I really the asshole,” he shot back, “when you only approached me for money and fame?”
That made her stop completely. For the first time since she walked in, she looked caught.
“Kate,” he continued, his voice lower now but no less cutting, “I know all of your plans.”

Lalso know how you told everyone that you were my first love,” he added. “That I was head over heels for you.”
Kate’s breathing grew uneven again. But this time, it was not an act.
“None of that happened.” Tristan said.
“Willow is my first love.”
Kate shook her head slowly, like she was trying to reject reality itself.
“No,” she whispered. “No, that’s not—”
She took a step back, then another, until her legs hit the chair behind her and she dropped into it, her body going rigid. Tristan’s arm wrapped around me again, pulling me closer to his side.
For a moment, no one spoke.
And then, Kate started laughing hysterically.
I frowned as I watched her, my stomach tightening at the sound.
“Fuck,” she said between laughs. “You guys were plotting too.”
