Chapter 116 The Loser Has To Fall
WILLOW
The applause was still ringing in my ears when I stepped off the stage.
I didn’t wait for anyone as I made my way back to the hidderentrance.

I already knew what was coming. From the look on Serena’s face, she wasn’t going to let this launch end without an anomaly.
However, I wasn’t going to let that happen in front of everyone.
This night was mine. Our team’s. Not theirs.
So I moved quickly, keeping my expression calm as I walked past the guests, offering polite nods, maintaining the image while I made my way toward a quieter section of the venue.
I stopped once I was sure I was out of sight, exhaling slowly as the noise of the party faded into a distant hum.
For a moment, I allowed myself to breathe. However, that didn’t last very long because I heard multiple footsteps rushing toward my direction.
I didn’t even need to turn around to know who they were.
I already knew.
I closed my eyes briefly and turned around just as they reached me.
Just like I expected, they cornered me, blocking every possible escape.
Serena was the first to step forward, her hand shooting out to grab my arm and spin me around fully to face them.
Her grip was tight and shaking. Her jaw trembled, her composure hanging by a thread.
“Y–you?” she stuttered.
I met her gaze, unbothered.
Andrew stood slightly behind her, his usual smugness gone, replaced by disbelief.
Kate, on the other hand, looked really pale, like everything she thought she knew had just been ripped away from her.
I sighed softly and shook my head.
“What?” I asked calmly. “Are you that shocked?”
None of them answered.

They just stared at me.
“Do you think that as a secretary, I would do all those things without the owner’s confirmation?”
“News flash.” I added, my lips curving faintly, “I am the owner.”
I thought Serena would slap me then. However, I felt a different sensation.
Marcus stepped forward, too close for my liking.
“Willow,” he said, his voice rough
He reached for my hand, but I pulled away instantly.
His hand froze midair before slowly dropping.
“What now?” I asked, my voice flat.
He looked at me like he was seeing me for the first time. Like everything had finally sunk in.
“I love you,” he said.

I almost laughed.
“I truly do,” he continued, desperation creeping into his voice. “I only realized it now, but it’s you I love.”
“No one takes care of me like you do,” he added. “I miss you. I should have treasured you more when we were together.”
He regretted it now, huh?
Well, sucks for him–it was

late.
“How many times do I have to tell you it’s over?” I asked.
My tone was not loud, but it was firm.
“Marcus,” I continued, “I don’t love you anymore.”
His face broke slightly.
“I don’t care what you do,” I added. “I will not forgive you.”
“I will just forget you.”
“And I will never love you again.”

His eyes filled instantly. And then, he broke down. Tears fell, his shoulders shaking slightly as he tried to hold himself together.
I did not look away. I let him feel every single word.
With that, I turned to the others.

“And you.” I said, my gaze landing on Kate and Andrew. “You must have had a fun time thinking I was someone you could fool
Kate’s lips parted slightly white Andrew clenched his jaw.
I took a step forward.
“However,” I continued, “how does it feel now?”
“How does it feel knowing you made fools of yourselves?”
Kate flinched and stepped back.
“Don’t play the game,” I added coldly, “when you don’t even know who your opponent is.”
Then, I turned to Serena.
Her expression was no longer shocked. She looked furious.

“And you,” I said.
Her eyes locked onto mine, sharp and burning.
“You just led King’s downfall.”
Her breath hitched subtly, but I still saw it.
“You will never achieve anything else aside from seducing Marcus,” I continued.
“That is your greatest achievement.”
I let a small smirk form.
“Congratulations.”
Her entire body tensed.

“That isn’t even that great of an achievement.”

Her hand moved. She raised it, ready to slap me. However, she never got the chance. A hand caught hers midair. Tristan stepped in front of me, placing himself between us in one motion.
His presence shifted the entire atmosphere. His eyes locked onto them, his expression sharp and dangerous.
