Chapter 78 Lose Control

WILLOW

Tristan’s hands were still on my waist, where he had grabbed me when he said those two words.

You win.

The air between us felt dangerously thin, like one small movement would shatter the fragile restraint that had been holding us back all night.

I looked down at him.

His eyes were darker than I had ever seen them.

There was no teasing left in themonly heat.

A slow smile tugged at the corner of my mouth.

Do I?I asked softly.

He did not answer. Instead, his hand slid up my back, fingers threading into my hair as he pulled me down toward him.

After which, he broke the rule he had laid out carefully.

He kissed me.

It was nothing like the almostkisses we had danced around earlier on the beach. There was nothing careful about this one. The moment our lips touched, it felt like something long restrained finally snapped.

The kiss was deep and fierce, the kind that stole the air straight from my lungs. His hand tightened in my hair as he tilted my head slightly, kissing me again and again as if he had been waiting far too long to do it.

A quiet sound escaped my throat before I could stop it.

My hands moved to his shoulders, gripping them as I kissed him back with the same intensity.

The world outside the room seemed to disappear. There was only the warmth of his mouth and the strength of his hands.

He tugged lightly at my hair, pulling my head back just enough to deepen the kiss.

The movement sent a shiver straight down my spine.

Tristan,I breathed against his lips.

He answered by kissing me againharder and hungrier.

The kiss grew rougher, more desperate, neither of us wanting to pause long enough to think about what we were doing.

His hand slid along my back, pulling me closer against him. I shifted slightly on his lap without thinking.

That was when I felt the unmistakable reaction my closeness had caused.

He was rock hard.

I pulled back just enough to look at him.

You’re-

The words slipped out before I could stop them.

You’re really hard.”

He exhaled slowly, then shook his head.

Before I could say anything else, he moved. His hands lifted me gently from his lap and laid me back onto the bed. I barely had time to process what was happening before he leaned over me and kissed me again.

The kiss returned, intense and consuming. His mouth moved against mine with the same urgency as before, as though he decided that stopping now was no longer possible.

My fingers slid into his hair this time, tugging lightly as I kissed him back.

A quiet groan rumbled in his chest.

The sound sent warmth spreading through my entire body.

His lips moved from mine, trailing down slowly along my jaw.

The sensation made my breath catch.

He kissed my neck, soft at first, then more aggressively the next second.

My fingers tightened in his hair.

The warmth of his mouth against my skin made my head tilt back against the pillow without thinking. He kissed the curve of my throat again, lingering there just long enough to send another shiver through me.

It felt dangerously good.

My heart began racing faster, but suddenly a thought snapped through my mind..

I could not let him bite my neck as he pleased.

If he did, I would lose.

I pushed lightly against his shoulder.

Tristan immediately lifted his head, his brows drawing together slightly in confusion.

His eyes searched mine silently, asking the question he had not spoken aloud.

What are you doing?

I smiled. Then I reached up and pulled him down again.

However, this time, I turned my head slightly and kissed his neck instead.

He inhaled sharply.

The sound alone made something warm spill out of my entrance. I kissed the side of his neck slowly, letting my lips linger there for a moment. After that, I bit him.

Tristan groaned.

The sound was deep and raw, vibrating through his chest and sending an unexpected thrill through me.

I pulled back slightly.

A small mark was already forming on the side of his neck.

I could not help smiling proudly.

Cute,” I said.

Tristan closed his eyes for a second, like he was gathering his composure. When he opened them again, he shook his head slowly.

You don’t know what game you’re playing?

I innocently looked up at him. What game?

With those words, I leaned forward again, ready to kiss him once more. But this time, he stopped me.

His hand came up gently, pressing against my shoulder as he shook his head.

I looked at him, confused.

Did I do something wrong?I asked.

His expression softened.

No.

He shifted slightly and lay down beside me on the bed. The sudden change in energy left me even more puzzled.

You didn’t do anything wrong,he repeated quietly.

I turned my head toward him.

Then why-

He exhaled slowly and rubbed a hand across his face.
