-Andi-
The chilly temperature woke me from my sleep. I pulled the blanket closer to my body and reached beside me in search o Beckett’s warm body, but my hands found only empty space in the bed. I pushed the blanket away; the blast of cool air fro the air conditioning made the small hairs on my skin stand attention.
My room was bathed in darkness, so I reached for the lamp on the bedside table, turning it on, casting low, warm yellow light around me.
The space and pillow beside mine were crumpled, evidence that someone was here in my bed, but where is he now?
I sink back into my bed, blinking at the ceiling as I gather my thoughts. I was buck naked under the sheets, so I know what happened wasn’t just a dream. My center was still wet, and I could still feel the ghost of Beckett’s touch.
I snapped back into reality when a knock rapped on my door, followed by Mom’s worried voice. “Andi? Are you awake?” H concern made me frown. Did she already figure out something is going on with me?
“Yeah, Mom,” I called out, pulling the sheets back to cover my upper body. I don’t lock my door, and I only remember that now. What if she had walked inside my room while Beckett was making a meal out of my pussy?
‘Oh god, I groaned and pulled the sheets over my face. ‘What was I thinking?‘
“Dinner is ready. You haven’t eaten all day, honey,” Mom murmured. I sigh. It was her motherly concern is all. “Thanks, Mom. I’ll be out in a minute,” I said and scrambled out of my bed, pulling the first thing I saw in my closet. Mom and Caleb were already seated at the dining table when I went to the kitchen. I stared at the chair Beckett occupies when he eats dinner with us; its emptiness unsettled me. He always has dinner here when he’s in town. I threw a glance at the door, longing to see him.
Why isn’t he here?‘
‘Is Beckett coming over?” Caleb asked, pulling me out of my trance.
‘I.. I don’t think so,” I said and sank into my chair. “He is flying from LA tonight, so I don’t think he’ll have dinner here.”
Caleb nodded as he started eating his food. Mom passed the chicken enchilada casserole, and my tummy growled at the aroma that wafted to my nose. I can’t believe I haven’t eaten Mom’s food for almost a week now. She would leave food in the fridge, but I didn’t really have time to take one with me to work. I missed Mom’s cooking.
“Is everything okay at work?” Mom asked mid–dinner.
“Hmmm, yeah,” I murmured through a mouthful of food.
She wasn’t satisfied with my response, but she let it slide, at least until it was only the two of us in the kitchen. Caleb finished eating and rushed back to his room.
“Andi, you know you can talk to me, right?” Mom murmured while we were cleaning the table. I was already in the sink, washing the dishes.
“Yeah, I know that,” I said.
“Then why are you out almost every night?” She asked, setting the plates on the counter and pretending to clean the rice cooker beside me. “Are you having a hard time studying?”

After washing, the dishes, Mom and I sat in the living room while drinking our coffee. It’s a habet that we bought was from the trailer park. A movie played on the TV, and I kept checking my phone for Beckett’s reply every sets. Ther message was marked as seen, but it’s been hours, and he still hassí ́t replied.
I can’t shake the feeling that something was off with Beckett. He came back earlier thats he was wagement toujours so inset) my room, and now he can’t even reply to my message? Is this his way of getting back at mer for not using his messages

My confusion was answered when I went back into my room to call it a night Beckett was bearing against my study desk, a frown carved into his forehead. He’s wearing a hoodie and joggers; his hair is a mass toys of his head. The window its front of the desk was open. So that’s how he got inside my room

“What are you talking about? There is no one else, Beckett,” I explained. How can I even look at someone else when I was too busy keeping my father away from my family? Besides, I would be a fool to look at someone else when I have Beckett Hale all to myself. So I don’t understand why we are having this conversation at all.
His nostrils flared as he lifted those blazing, grey eyes on me. He’s pinning with so much pain that I could feel it spiralling down my system. He’s torn and upset, distressed and mad all at once. “Then why were you with Cole?”
