Maid For Beckett Catching The Baseball Legend’s Heart novel Chapter 195

Andi-

d be lying if I said I hadn’t thought about setting foot in a university. I had always wondered how it would feel to have the xury of going to college, then finally have a job that doesn’t involve cleaning toilets and other people’s trash.

jeckett was making all my dreams come true in a sense, but I had never imagined my life would turn upside down because of him.

The campus was everything I had thought it would be. The sunlight beamed down on old brick buildings with a massive reen lawn in front of them.

here were students everywhere. Some were just loitering, others were playing basketball, and others were sitting on the iwn, playing guitar and reading books.

he parking lot was almost full, and eyes watched me as I parked. There were boys leaning on the car beside mine. omeone whistled as I slid out of the driver’s seat.

Nice ride,” one blond boy in a varsity jacket commented. He was surrounded by five other guys in the same blue varsity icket.

J

Thanks,I clutched my messenger bag and lowered my head. Gaining unwanted attention wasn’t on my todo list today.

hadn’t thought that my car would be noticeable. I mean, I dressed down in a plaid miniskirt and a pink top, and I traded my heels for sneakers. I was aiming to blend in.

s soon as I was out of the parking lot, I checked my phone for the school map. This university was too big, and I didn’t rant to be late for my schedule with the Dean. The school year had already started, and Beckett called in a few favors to get ne a slot in the course that I wanted to take.

On my search for the Dean’s office, I drifted through the clusters of students in the pathways, and I began to feel intimidated y their confidence and easygoing mood.

pulled my bag tighter on my shoulder and joined the current. I was beginning to feel out of place, so I tried my hardest not o let those feelings show.

m glad I wore my sneakers because the Dean’s office was on the other side of the campus, on the third floor, and their uilding had no elevator.

feel my heart thudding with each step toward the Dean’s office. Dread and hope spiraled down my spine.

Can I really do this? It had been a while since I left school, and my high school experience wasn’t really glamorous.

had to juggle between jobs to support my schooling, and I barely made any friends back there. I was too busy surviving ach day to have time for gettogethers and parties

Will my college experience be different?

I took in three heavy breaths before turning the knob of the office, slowly pushing it open

The Dean’s office was a stark contrast to the busy hallway that I passed through It was quiet here the taunt ucking of a clock on the wall. There was a couch on the side, and the walls were adorned with books from left to right My heart was hammering as I stepped further inside, greeting the man sitting behind the desk good morning

A man in his late forties was sitting behind the desk. He was in a crisp shirt and navy tie, and he looked up from a pile of

paperwork at his desk. Dean Marcus Wright was scribbled on the desk nameplate.

Hi. I’m Andrea Wilson-I grumbled, shifting in my foot, but he immediately stood from his seat as I mentioned my name.

He offered a firm but friendly handshake and a huge smile. Good morning. I’m Dean Wright. Come on, sit down.

He was stumbling on his words. I wonder what Beckett did for this man. As much as I wanted to go through this as a normal process, I can’t stop my husband from helping me in his own way.

I tried to match his beaming smile as I sat down. Hi, I hope I’m not causing trouble. I know my enrollment is a bit late.

He shook his head. You’re not the first to walk in after the deadline, Mrs. Hale.”

Mrs. Hale? I’m slowly understanding how Beckett managed to get me in. Dean Wright seemed to have misheard me when I introduced myself as Andrea Wilson.

Uhm… I don’t know what Beckett told you, but I’d like to keep my acquaintance with him a secret for now,I say with a tentative smile. Making demands shouldn’t be my first business of the day with this guy. I mean, if that’s okay.

Oh, sure, Ms. Wilson,he leaned his elbows on his desk. But you really are married to Beckett Hale?

I slowly nodded my head. But we wanted to keep things low for now.

He hummed. I get it. Don’t worry. Your secret is safe with me.”

I was grateful for his understanding, and I hope he keeps his word. One gossip could end my time here. Thank you. Uhm. soDo you need my application?

Yeah, you have it?

I handed over my application, and I sat there, fidgeting as he browsed through my credentials.

Usually, we don’t accept students with a GPA lower than 3.5,he mumbled, and I sank back into my seat, feeling my bones turning to jelly.

My CPA was 2.7, and if I don’t get into this university, I don’t think any other school in Hawthorne Bay will accept me

Uhm. I understand.I mumbled, my voice cracking as I felt my hopes crashing down.
