Margaret Tucker AKA Lord Reaper novel Chapter 26

Chapter 26 The Slow Ride Home

Her body felt completely drained. After settling into a comfortable position, Margaret quickly fell asleep.

From the driver’s seat, Edward noticed she was out. To keep the ride smooth, he slowed right down, letting the car glide almost silently along the road.

He drove so slowly that he was actually going below the speed limit.

Because of his crawling pace, a long line of cars formed behind the black luxury vehicle. Forced to match his speed, they trailed in a slow, impressive procession that stretched far back-a sight both grand and ridiculous.

Drivers further back grew impatient. Some muttered curses under their breath; a few even felt the urge to bump his car out of the way.

But once they got a clear look at the license plate, even the angriest drivers shut up and backed off.

Tucker 8888!

In Karemin, only a few powerful families could use their surname on a license plate. It wasn’t just a number -it was a symbol of identity and absolute honor.

A trip that should have taken 30 minutes ended up taking a full hour.

Edward pulled up outside the Tucker Villa and checked the rearview mirror. Margaret was still fast asleep.

She looked completely exhausted. He had no idea what she’d been through these past few days.

He didn’t wake her. Instead, he stayed in the driver’s sea, silent and still, his eyes dark and unreadable. No one could tell what was going through his mind. was going through his mind.

Margaret slept on until the sky outside turned dark. Only then did she finally stir.

“It’s night already?”

She rubbed her eyes and saw that the world outside had gone dark.

She must have slept for at least five hours.

“Yeah.”

Edward sat as still as a statue. When he heard her question, he let out a reply.

Margaret opened the car door and stepped out. Seeing He hadn’t moved, she asked, “Aren’t you coming in?”

Her brothers didn’t live at the Tucker Villa. They had moved out a long time ago.

Edward glanced toward the villa. A flicker of pain passed through his shadowed eyes-he clearly disliked this place. He hid it quickly and said, “I’ll skip it. If you need anything, call me. If anyone gives you trouble, tell me right away.”

“Alright.”

Margaret had caught that brief look of dislike in his eye. Clearly, there were old wounds here. Strange, but she wasn’t the type to dig into other people’s pain.

“If you’re not comfortable here-if anyone makes thing hard for you-come stay with us,” Edward said. He knew exactly how his father and that woman had treated Margaret, and he didn’t want her suffering the same way again.

Margaret shook her head, unconcerned. “It’s fine. This is my home. I’m the real heiress of this family. Why should I be the one to leave?

“Besides… staying here could be fun.”

She smiled-a cold, sharp smile filled with something dark and dangerous.

“Okay.”

Edward didn’t push further. He could tell she had changed. She wasn’t the type to take abuse anymore.

Then he drove off.

Margaret stood alone at the gate, studying the Tucker Villa.

It was huge with sprawling gardens and even a private golf course. To most people, it looked like a dream: luxurious and beautiful.

But to the girl who once lived in this body, this place had been nothing but a hell.

In just over a year living here, the original Margaret had been pushed into deep depression. She had tried to end her life more than once.

Faint scars still marked her wrists.

Hell, huh?

As Margaret stared at the villa, a fierce light ignited in her eyes.

From now on, she would make sure everyone who had urt the original Margaret learned what true hell really felt like.
