Margaret Tucker AKA Lord Reaper novel Chapter 85

Chapter 85 The Unbreakable Myth Crumbles

Thirty seconds later…

“Warning! Warning! Fourth firewall malfunction detected!”

Arthur was stunned.

Another slap in the face!

And this time, the hacker broke through even faster than the third firewall.

The firewalls were supposed to get harder, but this hacker seemed to grow more familiar with the system as they went-faster and faster with each one.

The bald programmer’s face turned ashen.

This is totally unbelievable! Never heard of anything like it!

Who the hell is this hacker-some kind of freaking monster?!

Arthur didn’t lose his cool as badly as the programmer, but his voice betrayed his unease. “How is this. possible?”

No hacker should be able to break through the fourth firewall that quickly. Even Arthur himself would need at least a minute. But this hacker? Just thirty seconds.

Is there anyone else this good besides the Hacker God?

Or… is this the legendary Hacker God-finally back after all these years?

But even if it is-this is as far as they’re gonna get!

Yet…

“Warning! Fifth firewall malfunction detected!”

“Warning! Sixth firewall malfunction detected!”

“Seventh firewall down!”

“Eighth!”

“Fourteenth firewall malfunction detected!”

The robotic voice cut through the room each time, sending chills down everyone’s spines.

The bald programmer was completely frozen.

In just one minute, the hacker had blown through the first fourteen firewalls. Only one remained.

Is Dr. Tucker’s “unbreakable” system myth about to shatter?

After the fourteenth warning, the room went quiet again.

That hacker’s hit their limit now. I’m totally overreacting. C’mon, no one can actually crack Dr. Tucker’s system.

Just as that thought crossed his mind, the cold, emotionless robotic voice rang out like a demon’s whisper.

“Warning! Fifteenth firewall malfunction detected! System will enter self-protection mode in three seconds!”

The bald programmer went completely numb.

For the first time ever, Dr. Tucker’s system has been hacked! The myth is dead!

He collapsed into his chair, his face pale. His back was soaked with sweat, his eyes empty-as if his entire belief system had crumbled. Then, panic jolted him awake.

“Dr. Tucker! The system’s been breached! What do we do now?!”

This was a national telecom system. If it failed, all communication in Karemin would break down.

On the other end of the line, Arthur had finally pulled himself together. His voice was tight, like he was holding back anger and wounded pride. “Don’t panic. The system has self-repair capabilities. It’ll fix itself in a few minutes.”

He admitted the hacker was skilled. But not as skilled as him.

So what if they’d broken through the firewalls? They still couldn’t damage the system. The self-repair function was his ace in the hole.

Relief washed over the bald programmer. His eyes regained a hint of life. “Dr. Tucker, you’re amazing! I was so scared just now!

“Those hackers are nothing compared to you, Dr. Tucker! Haha!”

He’d truly thought the system was done for. Now it seemed-even a great hacker was no match for a genius like Arthur.

But the humbling came faster than ever.

The robotic voice blared again. The programmer flinched instinctively-he’d been traumatized by that sound.

“Warning! Unknown virus detected in system! Self-repair function temporarily disabled!”

Silence fell once more.

The programmer’s hand shook violently as he held the phone. His face burned with embarrassment.

Staring at the garbled code on the big screen, he looked like he’d seen a ghost.

He wasn’t as brilliant as Arthur, but he was still one of the top experts in telecom.

Yet now, he stared at the virus code in terror-he couldn’t even understand it. Let alone get rid of it.
