Jane said, “I’ll hang up now. The plane is about to take off. If you’re busy, you don’t have to pick us up at the airport. If you’re free, then come meet us.”

Laurence replied, “Alright.”

Jane ended the call.

She said to Lilian, “This flight is going to take a few hours, so I’m going to get some shuteye.”

Lilian nodded. “Alright, go ahead. I’m not tired.”

She then took out a book and began reading.

Jane explained, “I went to bed very late last night and had to rush for our flight this morning. I’m exhausted, so I’ll catch up on some sleep. Once we get to Laurence’s place, I definitely won’t feel like sleeping.”

There would be plenty of excitement there, after all.

She planned to stay with her son for a couple of days before paying a visit to the O’Connors in Satbury.

She would also attend the auction in Havenmill and bid on anything she liked.

Besides the activities, the real reason for Jane’s trip was her son and her future daughter-in-law.

She needed to have a serious talk with Laurence.

If he loved someone, why not say it openly? What was there to fear?

Was he afraid Noelle would run away?

Noelle was such an intelligent person. Could she really not sense that Laurence treated her differently from everyone else?

Lilian said, “Then get some sleep. I’ll wake you when we arrive.”

Jane hummed a soft acknowledgment.

She closed her eyes and quickly drifted off to slumber.

Meanwhile, at Longbottom Corporation, Roxy stood before the floor-to-ceiling windows of her office holding a pair of binoculars. Through them, she was looking at another office tower in the city—the headquarters of Longtail Group.

Laurence had deliberately built the headquarters of Longtail Group taller than the building of Longbottom Corporation.

“Will do.”

After hanging up, Roxy placed her phone back on the desk and leaned back in her chair.

Last night, both Tony and Manny had an identical dream. In it, the sole surviving descendant of the direct lineage had returned.

The person had also brought back the head of the family’s tokens, seal, totem, and various other symbols of authority. In short, everything that belonged to the head was in that person’s possession.

He often said that if he could see the head of the family’s heirlooms again before he died, he would be able to rest in peace.

Her entire family believed that Laurence was the infant who had escaped thirty years ago. They simply lacked proof.

After Tony and Manny had that same unsettling dream, they ordered everyone to keep a close watch on Laurence.

If Laurence ever revealed the heirlooms, they would see whether they could seize them and then eliminate him.
