Roxy thought that by keeping a close watch on Laurence, she would eventually see some signs if he truly was the child who had escaped thirty years ago.

Unfortunately, her surveillance yielded no results. Laurence was simply too difficult to deal with.

“If he really is that child from thirty years ago, he will definitely be a formidable enemy to my entire family,” Roxy muttered to herself.

Tony and Manny had openly and secretly targeted Laurence countless times, yet none of their attempts had succeeded. The best outcome they had ever achieved was injuring his bodyguard, Noelle.

Laurence remained completely unharmed.

To be honest, Roxy was rather envious that Laurence had such a capable and loyal bodyguard by his side.

If she had a bodyguard as loyal as Noelle, she could practically do as she pleased throughout Havenmill.

The office phone rang.

Roxy answered it. It was Manny calling through the office intercom, asking her to come to his office.

After hanging up, Roxy stood up with her phone in hand and walked around her desk.

Laurence was naturally aware that Roxy had people watching him. Since he had already decided to reveal his face, he no longer cared about her surveillance.

Besides, he had no intention of returning to the office today.

That evening, he planned to have his people throw sacks over the heads of Roxy’s subordinates who had been tracking him, give them a thorough beating, and then dump them at the front gate of Longbottom Villa.

That would certainly infuriate Manny and Roxy.

Psychologically tormenting them was quite satisfying as well.

They had already guessed his true identity, but they lacked evidence. They had tried countless times to kill him, yet had never succeeded.

Jane had slept from the moment she boarded until the aircraft touched down, only waking when Lilian called her. “We’ve arrived. We’ll be getting off the plane shortly.”

Lilian slipped the book she had been reading into her bag and laughed as she picked it up. “You really can sleep. You slept the entire journey.”

“I was tired. I slept incredibly well. Coming out for a trip means putting down all my burdens. My tensed nerves finally relaxed, so I slept wonderfully.”

Jane had little to pack. All she needed was her handbag.

When passengers were allowed to disembark, the two ladies got off together. Lilian took out her phone and said, “Let’s call Laurence. He’s definitely brought Noelle with him to pick us up.”

“Sure, give him a ring. I’ll send a message in the family group chat saying we’ve arrived safely, so Tim won’t worry about you.” As she spoke, Jane announced their safe arrival in the family group chat.

After finishing her call, Lilian said, “Tim is becoming more and more like a child. Ever since he learned we were coming without taking him along, he’s been wearing a pitiful expression every day. He even told Oliver to throw a tantrum for him. It nearly made me laugh to death.”

Jane laughed. “He’s just reluctant to part with you, and you’re laughing at him. Bringing him along wouldn’t have been any trouble.”
