“If something happens later, Jane, just hide behind me,” Lilian instructed.

Jane replied, “They won’t dare to actually do anything to us. At most, they’ll invite us over for some tea.

“And it’s not like I can’t fight at all. I’m just not as good as you. I can still hold my own. And didn’t you give me some itching powder? I’ll pull it out and cover them in it from head to toe when I need to.”

Lilian laughed. “Alright, then. We’re in your son’s turf, so if he can’t even protect us, he still has to train himself up for a few more years.”

The two ladies went to the busiest street in Havenmill.

It was already after work hours, but due to the season, it was still not dark out yet. In fact, there were more people out on the streets right then compared to the daytime.

After parking in a public parking lot nearby, the two joined the crowd.

First and foremost, food.

They tried a whole bunch of Havenmill’s local specialty snacks until they were full.

Only after eating and drinking to their heart's content did they begin leisurely strolling through the streets.

As night fell, thousands of lights began illuminating the night.

Havenmill had always been a bustling city with a dazzling night view.

Jane bought a new set of clothes for both Laurence and Noelle. They did not lack clothes, but as their visiting mother, it was one of the ways she showed her love.

It did not matter how formidable or how old the two youngins got. To her, they would always be her children.

Lilian bought a few books for Laurence, all about how to court women.

She also bought two other gifts for Laurence and Noelle.

Then, she bought a gift for her little shadow of a husband, and her crybaby son could not miss out either.

Very soon, the two ladies were burdened with bags of all sizes.

After following them for so long, these people had finally made a move.

Jane looked at them with a guarded and cautious expression as she asked, “What do you want?”

The men were quite polite. “Excuse me for bothering you both, Mrs. Johnson. Our boss would like to invite you two over for a chat. He says that you’re old acquaintances.

“Since you’ve come from afar, he would like to catch up with you two.”

In reality, Tony had never had any direct interaction with the two ladies. The person he had made use of was Camryn Newman’s younger sister, Carrie, in Wiltspoon, not in Annenburg.

There was even less to be said about Manny.

He had wanted to work with the Johnsons and the Yorks, but they had not given him the chance.

As such, Manny had never met the older generation that Jane and the rest were a part of.
