Married at First Sight (Serenity and Zachary) novel Chapter 5382

Jane and Lilian exchanged glances before Jane calmly replied, “May I know who your boss is? Do we know him?”

The man in black remained polite as he replied, “We were instructed as such. Since he said so, he must know you.”

Jane handed the bags she was carrying to the men in black as she said, “Fine. Since an old acquaintance has invited us, we’ll stop by. Please help me put my bags into my car.”

The corner of the man’s mouth twitched, but he still accepted the bags Jane handed him.

Lilian followed suit.

They finally freed their hands.

The two ladies insisted on driving their own car, not wanting to sit in the man’s car. The man in black figured it was alright since they had strength in numbers and quite a few cars. They could just box in Jane’s car on the road.

Plus, the two Mrs. Johnsons were not familiar with Havenmill, unlike them, who had been working in this city all this while and were very familiar with every street and alleyway.

However, he insisted on having one of his men join them in their car, with the excuse of him being their navigator.

Though the ladies knew it was to keep an eye on them so they could not contact Laurence.

Still, Jane and Lilian had shopped the whole afternoon precisely so that the men would make their move, so there was no way they would contact Laurence at this point.

At this hour, Laurence was probably still busy working and not home yet.

Noelle knew they were laying a trap and were just waiting for their prey to spring on it.

Thus, Jane agreed to the man in black’s arrangement.

Once their shopping haul was in the car, she and Lilian got in. After one of the men got in the back seat, she turned to the leader and said, “Lead the way.”

The man replied politely, “Then, please follow us closely, Mrs. Johnson.”

“Don’t worry, I’m quite good at driving, but you guys shouldn’t drive too fast. This is our first time here, and we’re not familiar with the roads. I’m worried we won’t be able to keep up.”

Jane’s driving could make Ben weak in the knees and feel like puking after getting out of the car.

“Mrs. Johnson.”

At the sight of them, Manny greeted them with a smile.

Roxy followed suit as she surreptitiously sized them up. She had seen pictures of the adult younger Johnsons before, and they were all very good-looking. Well, they did all say the Johnsons specialized in producing good-looking people.

It was clearly hereditary. Mrs. Johnson was about the same age as her mother, but she had kept herself in much better shape than her mother had, let alone in the looks department.

The Johnsons’ generations of good looks went way back, and each generation only kept being polished further. That was how the current generation of Johnsons was so good-looking.

Jane nodded.

Manny remembered he had not introduced himself yet and hurriedly did so.

Jane nodded again. “Mr. Longbottom.”
