Heath continued working and only left for home a little past ten at night. Since his parents and sister were out of town, leaving him home alone, he decided to spend the night at his cousin’s place instead. At least he would have someone to talk to.

Thus, Heath headed straight for Sonny’s home.

Sonny had just gotten home and poured himself a glass of water. He was sitting on the sofa drinking it when he heard his phone ring and saw Heath calling. He picked up.

“Is something wrong? Why’re you calling me so late?”

“You’re back home already, right, Sonny? Is it okay if I come over and stay the night?”

Sonny did not understand. “Why? Did your parents kick you out? Don’t you own a house of your own?”

Every York child would receive a villa and a luxury car as their coming-of-age gift. As the eldest grandson and the successor, he received the biggest villa out of all his cousins.

It was not far from the one Zachary usually lived in, which made it convenient for him to come home and mooch meals off them.

Heath later on bought himself another villa and an apartment so close to his office he could even walk there.

He bought the apartment purely to make it more convenient for him to go to work. If his parents and Callia were home, he went home every day because home would be filled with chatter and laughter. He could completely unwind after a long, tiring day at work.

“My parents went off to Laurence’s to watch the show without a word. Callie’s interning at Clo’s company, so I’m really bored alone at home. That’s why I was thinking of staying over.”

Sonny understood now. His cousin felt abandoned by his parents and was feeling sad, so he wanted company and comfort.

He laughed, “I just got home. Come over, then. We haven’t had a good chat in a while, either. You can sleep with me tonight and we can talk until the next morning.

“Oh, wait, we can’t. I’m flying to Clearfield tomorrow for work first thing tomorrow morning. I have to sleep early tonight. You’d better sleep in the guest room, then.”
