“That’s just how she is. When the urge comes, she’ll just drag my dad off for a holiday on a whim. The moment they make a run for it, I have to take over everything at home and at work. It’s so tiring. It’s seriously not easy being the head of the family.”

Sonny laughed. “Of course it isn’t. You’re in a good position, though, with so many younger cousins to help share the burden. You mainly handle matters at the HQ, so it’s pretty easy for you. Besides, you’ve got Xavier.”

“I don’t have anyone else to rely on. Jiggy has her own responsibilities, so I can’t rely on her.”

He only had one sister and they both had their own responsibilities and burdens to bear.

If they really had to compare, Jeanne had a heavier weight on her shoulders.

She bore the burden of a whole family.

At Sonny’s remarks, Heath gave it a moment of thought, then agreed with a smile, “When you put it like that, I am very lucky. It’s true that every single one of my cousins is very impressive and they help me share a significant load.

“But if I asked Jace or Jax to take my place, they’d rather die, as if this position was some great curse,” Heath grumbled.

Sometimes, he did not want to be the successor.

Sonny laughed. “If it were me, I wouldn’t want to either. Sharing the burden is still easier than bearing the bulk. They’d be able to make more time for themselves.

“Just accept your fate. If you don't take the helm, Callie will have to step up. Could you really bring yourself to let her shoulder that burden? She might look delicate and fragile, but she has ambition in spades, just like Clo.”

If Callia could hear this, she would ask Sonny in what way she was delicate and fragile.

She knew how to defend herself and had real fighting spirit, alright? She was not delicate or fragile at all.

“That’s right, just accept it. This is our fate.”

“I’ve accepted it long ago. Anyway, I’m at your door.”

“Alright, I’ll come open the door for you. At this hour, the employees have all gotten off work.” Sonny got up. “Hanging up.”

He then walked out of the main building to open the door for Heath.

Only some of his employees boarded there. Either way, they all got off work at ten at night. After work, he usually would not ask them to work. That was their free time.

They would start work at six in the morning. He had not hired many employees. Their main responsibility was to take care of the villa, since he usually lived there alone. His parents and sister only came back to Wiltspoon for the Christmas holidays.
