Marry Ex's Billionaire Uncle After Divorce (Aurora and Jasper) novel Chapter 12

Chapter 12: She Will Come Back

(Author’s POV)

Sienna stared at the orange Hermès bag sitting on the desk, rejected. A surge of disbelief and irritation flushed through her veins. How dare this woman refuse her? And in front of an audience?

Sienna didn’t bother looking at Ms. Lane. She lowered her gaze to her freshly manicured nails, inspecting the flawless French tips.

Ms. Lane,Sienna said, her voice dripping with condescension. Unless the building is on fire, I don’t understand why you are wasting my precious time.

The air in the small office seemed to solidify.

A mother in a beige trench coat stepped forward, her face flushed with anger. Excuse me? Your daughter has been bullying other girls for weeks. And today, because of her lie, eighty percent of the class missed the dress rehearsal. And you have the nerve to stand there and act superior?

Sienna flicked her eyes over the woman. Middleclass department store clothes. Worthless.

She turned her head slightly, addressing Ms. Lane with a sharp tone. Is this the quality of parents at St. Jude’s? Blaming a classmate because their own children are too incompetent

to check a schedule?

Rosalind told everyone the wrong time on purpose!another parent shouted.

Sienna laughed. It was a cold, mocking sound. “Did you all buy your Ivy League degrees? You believe such obvious excuses from toddlers? My time is billed by the minute. I don’t have the patience for your whining.

Several parents moved to block her path, demanding an explanation.

Sienna rolled her eyes and pulled her phone from her clutch. She dialed a number, putting it on speaker for everyone to hear.

Mr. Chairman, she said lazily into the receiver. I want Rosalind moved to a different class immediately. The environment here is toxic, and the parents are incredibly hostile. If you can resolve this quickly, the Everett family will consider fully funding that new art building you’ve been begging for.

She hung up without waiting for a reply. She looked at Ms. Lane, whose face had gone pale.

I’m taking the child now,Sienna sneered.

She turned on her heel and strutted out, her heels clicking loudly on the linoleum.

The parents stood in stunned silence. One mother, whose husband worked in the District Attorney’s Office, stared at Sienna’s retreating back with icecold eyes. That was blatant bribery. This wasn’t over.

Ms. Lane rubbed her temples, feeling a migraine coming on. The situation was spiraling out of control.

On the playground, Sienna found Rosalind near the slide. The little girl was backed into a corner by three other children.

Why did you lie to us?one boy demanded.

Rosalind saw Sienna and burst into tears, running to her. “Sienna!

Sienna scooped her up, glaring at the other children until they scattered. It’s okay, sweetie. I’m here. I’ll take you to Disney World to make it better.

Rosalind wiped her eyes and beamed. I like you so much better than Mommy! I wish you were my real mom.

Sienna covered her mouth, feigning shock. Rosalind, darling, don’t say that. It would break your mother’s heart.

Rosalind’s face twisted in anger. She remembered how Jasper had scolded her because of Aurora. “I don’t care! I hate her! I want Daddy to divorce her so I never have to see that bad

woman again.

Sienna smoothed the girl’s hair, hiding a triumphant smile. *Yes, they will divorce. And I will

be the mistress of this house.*

That evening, Jasper returned to the estate, looking exhausted.

How was school?he asked, loosening his tie.

Sienna took his coat immediately, her expression soft and weary. nothing major. Just a few misunderstandings at the kindergarten. The teachers and parents are justvery dramatic.

Jasper looked at her. She seemed so fragile, yet she was handling his burdens with a smile. He felt a surge of protectiveness. He remembered the feeling of her skin in the study, the way she looked at him.

He reached out, taking her hand. He wanted to pull her closer.

Jasper!

Claim

Victoria’s voice rang out from the stairs. She descended slowly, a glass of red wine in her hand. Sienna quickly pulled her hand away and smoothed her dress.

Aurora hasn’t been back in three days,Victoria complained, frowning. What is she playing at? It’s disgraceful behavior for a daughterinlaw.

Rosalind looked up from the floor where she was playing. Is Mommy never coming back?

Jasper’s face darkened. His blue eyes turned cold.

She will come back,he said with absolute certainty. She’s pregnant. She has no money, no career. Where else can she go? She’s just doing this to force me to beg her to return.

He let out a short, arrogant laugh. But I won’t beg. She’ll crawl back in a few days when reality sets in.

Sienna nodded obediently, concealing her delight at his blindness.

(Aurora’s POV)

My laptop chimed. An sss from Everett Global.

*Interview Confirmation: Tomorrow, 2:00 PM.*

I stared at the screen, focusing on the preparation materials. My phone buzzed on the desk. Jasper’s name flashed. I ignored it.

A moment later, an iMessage notification popped up. It was from the mother of one of

Rosalind’s classmates.

I opened it. She detailed the entire scene at the kindergartenthe bribery, the insults, the arrogance of the woman in the Chanel suit. She asked who she was and expressed deep concern for Rosalind.

I didn’t feel the old shame. I didn’t feel the need to apologize for sins I didn’t commit. Instead, a wry smile touched my lips. It was like watching a circus from the stands rather than being in the cage with the lions.

I typed a reply.

*That sounds like a nightmare. Unfortunately, according to Jasper, I am currently unfitto handle Rosalind’s affairs. Please direct your complaints to him. I’m sure he would love to hear how his girlfriendis managing his reputation. Good luck!*

The mother heartedthe message instantly. She understood.

Chapter 12 She Will Come Back

I flipped my phone face down. I felt lighter than I had in years.

Clairh

The next day, I dressed in a sharp, tailored suit and arrived at the Everett Global headquarters.

The building was a monolith of glass and steel. Compared to this, Jasper’s company was a roadside stand.
