Chapter 249
“Then we’ll teach her to use that power wisely. She’ll grow up knowing she’s loved, that her worth doesn’t depend on blood or status.
She’ll never doubt her place the way you had to.”
Tears pricked my eyes–the good kind. “Thank you. For everything. For choosing me, for fighting for me, for this family.”
“Eileen.” He turned me to face him, expression intense. “You earned every bit of happiness you have. Don’t ever forget that.”
I kissed him then, soft and lingering, pouring everything I couldn’t articulate into that contact. When we broke apart, his eyes had
darkened with familiar hunger.
“We should wait,” he said roughly. “At least a few more weeks-”
“Before I finally mark you back?” I interrupted, voice dropping to a whisper. “Our bond is incomplete, Regis. And I want- I gathered my courage. “I want to finish it. I want you to know, bone–deep, that you’re mine the same way I’m yours.”
His pupils dilated, wolf rising in those silver–blue depths. “You just gave birth. Your body needs time.”
“I’m fully restored, Regis. Lumina and the blessing are more powerful than you think, and returning to our own den accelerated everything.” I leaned in, breath ghosting across his throat. “And my wolf is demanding I complete our bond. She wants her mate properly
claimed.”
Yes, Lumina growled, suddenly fierce. Our Alpha. Mark him. Make him OURS.
A shudder ran through Regis. “If we do this, I won’t be gentle. It’s been too long-”
‘I don’t want gentle. I want you to know, every time you breathe, that you belong to me.”
His control shattered. In one fluid motion he had me beneath him, his weight settling between my thighs as his mouth claimed mine with barely restrained hunger. This wasn’t careful or controlled–this was raw and desperate, months of separation and fear finally breaking free.
“Tell me if I hurt you,‘ he growled against my lips, hands roaming possessively over my body.
He made a sound between a growl and a groan, mouth moving to my throat, teeth scraping over his mark. “Mine. My mate. My Luna. My everything.”

Yes, Lumina sang. Our mate. Our Alpha. OURS.
“I love you too.” I let my teeth find the junction of his neck and shoulder. “And I’m claiming you. Now.”
I bit down hard enough to break skin, tasting copper and salt and him. The bond between us exploded, power rushing through both our veins as the final piece locked into place. His wolf howled in triumph inside his chest, and Lumina answered with a cry of pure joy. I felt his pleasure, his love, his absolute devotion as clearly as my own heartbeat–and knew he felt mine too.
Complete, Lumina breathed, her voice thick with satisfaction. Finally complete. He is ours, and we are his, and nothing will ever break this.
