(Author’s POV)
"I had no intention of taking the Lycan princess away. I didn’t give any order to kidnap Ms. Nora Everests. The order was for the other girl born in the same hospital, on the same day," Garry told him the truth as he let out a heavy sigh. In that moment, he felt as if a huge burden was off his chest.
Alaric flinched, his eyes contracted and expanded in pure shock. He opened his mouth, then closed, then opened once again, but no sound came out for a few seconds. He didn’t know how to react to this. After what felt like an eternity, he opened his mouth, "What~ ... what do you mean by this? Don’t lie. You~ ...."
"Young Alpha Alaric, I am not lying, not one bit. I mean exactly as it sounds. You have already done an investigation, so you must already be aware of the identity of the other girl," Garry stated. "My target was not Nora but Myra~ ... Myra Miracle. She was the one I ordered the men to take away. But because of a mix up and their sheer stupidity, the Lycan princess was wrung up in the whole mess."
Alaric was stunned as he stood rooted to the spot.
All his life, all his damn life, he had hated the person who dared to kidnap his baby sister, right under their nose. He had loathed all of humankind for this one reason. He thought it was one of their many enemies who must have bribed those greedy, money hungry human beings. There had been countless scenarios he had imagined to avenge his sister’s kidnapper. But hearing Garry’s absurd words, all that pain~ ... all that suffering~ ... all the feeling of vengeance~ .... all that longing~ .... everything he had been keeping inside felt like a joke.
"A MISTAKE?" Alaric screamed. "YOUR MEN MISTAKENLY ABDUCTED MY SISTER, YOU SAY?"
"Yes, young alpha," Garry murmured, composed
"You say it was a mistake, then why~ .... what’s the reason? Why will you kidnap Myra?" he fired questions after questions. He then added, his voice low and threatening, "But let me warn you, you fucking vicious old man. If I find you lying, you won’t survive another minute on this planet. I will make sure the name Garry Yates becomes history."
Garry didn’t flinch. "I understand." Then he inhaled another long breath and started, "That child, Myra, she is~ ..." he gulped between words, not knowing how to put it, "She wasn’t born under normal circumstances. She was~ .... a part of an experiment." The word experiment felt heavy on his tongue. His past mistakes flashed back inside his brain like a movie scene.
Alaric frowned, not understanding the meaning.
Meanwhile, Garry continued, "Young Alpha Alaric~ .... have you ever heard something called, ’the gold blood’?" He asked.
"Gold Blood? What is that?" Alaric questioned, clearly confused. He had never heard this term, ever.
"The gold blood is a powerful substance that can heal anything and everything in this world. Plant, animal, person~ .... anything, you name it. It is said that if a person who is on death’s door consumes it, he/she will not just survive; they will thrive," Garry told Alaric.
"What has this~ ... this gold blood has anything to do with my question?" Alaric inquired.
"It has everything to do with it. Because~ ..." Garry let out yet another sigh as his body, his eyes red rimmed, his voice choking, "Myra is the first and only successful experiment subject who possesses gold blood."
In that instant, Alaric’s mind went blank. He felt the floor had fallen out underneath him. ’Myra~ ... our mate~ .... is an experiment?’ Alex verbalized with profound shock.
"It all happened twenty seven years ago~ ..."

"10 million"
