Chapter 552: Meeting With The King

*Nearly seven months later*

"SIR, WHY? WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO ME? YOU COULD HAVE SAVED ME~ .... AND~ .... MY DAUGHTER, YOU MONSTER. YOU ARE A MONSTER. YOU ARE A MONSTERRRRRRRRRRRRRR."

"Garry~ .... honey~ .... Wake up. GARRY~~~" Diana’s voice echoed in the room as she tried to wake him up.

Garry woke up with a start, panting heavily. His back slick with cold sweat. His hands clamped tightly. He glanced at his surroundings in a daze. Once he realized he was in his bedroom, beside his wife, in Damona, he breathed a sigh of relief.

Diana, still worried sick, asked, "Honey, were you having sleep paralysis? You kept mumbling in your sleep.... asking to save someone and calling yourself a monster. Is everything okay with you?"

Garry nodded hesitantly, "I am fine. Just some work stress. Don’t worry about it," he tried to reassure her.

"Are you sure? You are not hiding anything from me?" Diana stared at him with narrowed eyes. "If there’s anything, you can tell me."

"Don’t overthink. The work at the office has been insane," he placed a light pack on her forehead and added, "Sorry to disturb your sleep. It’s still wee hours; you should rest some more." Saying this, he wrapped his arms around her and patted her head gently. Soon Diana drifted to sleep, but Garry remained wide awake.

Truth be told, he had been having such nightmares for the past two weeks. He had been spending all his time in his office, even sleeping there, so he didn’t know he was sleep talking about it. He had tried to ignore it, but Amelia’s blood dripping eyes, her blank expression, her hollowed cheeks, the baby in her arms- everything felt vivid to him as if it was real.

After not sleeping a wink, as the sun rose in the sky, he came to a conclusion. He wanted to know about the girl he could not save. So, the first thing he did when he reached his office was to get intel on Amelia’s situation.

Robin Carcello, who left the underworld and came with him to Damona, has been gathering information behind Garry’s back. He immediately told him how the poor girl was suffering. She was not only pregnant with a girl child. But Denver and her sister have made sure to ruin her reputation so they could easily isolate her from others.

Garry’s heart twinged with raw pain. The bright, innocent, ambitious girl was trapped in a façade of a relationship, and he had played a major part in it. He, then and there, decided to rescue her and at the same time put an end to this madness once and for all.

He took out a stack of folders from his hidden drawer and said to Robin, "Send information to the Wareham family and tell them about Denver’s whereabouts."

"On it, boss," Robin replied and quickly departed from the room.

Garry then traced the name on the document: Jacob Larson, the ruthless vampire king. Tapping his finger twice, he made a call, "Arrange an appointment with Chairperson Larson for me~ ... as early as possible."
