Chapter 582: A Demonic Wail

(Author’s POV)

"You think you have won. Know this: it isn’t over until I say so~ .... None of you will make it out alive," Aamon roared, his differently hued eyes burning like ambers.

Holding Elisa closely, he started chanting in demon tongue to summon his demonic energy. But before he could get the chance to do any further harm, all four brothers who seemed to be under a spell came from behind Myra and lunged right at Elisa and him, catching him completely off guard.

Drey and Leo dragged Elisa apart from him, hauling her straight to the source of the blazing hellfire and poisonous monkshood. Frantically, Aamon reached out his hand in an attempt to get her back. But Rave slammed his head right into Aamon’s body as the latter tumbled back but managed to remain steady.

He glanced Elisa’s way and once again tried to get to her, but this time Alex pinned him down from behind with his brutal force. Towering over him, he growled above Aamon’s head, which was tilted to the side now. Showcasing his bare fangs, Alex was ready to tear him apart. Aamon growled back, his tail flailed in the air like a sword in a battlefield, slashing and attacking, trying to aim for Alex’s weak spot.

By now, Leo had thrown Elisa’s unconscious body into the firepit, whereas Drey went to cover Myra’s line of sight. He didn’t want his innocent, human mate to witness such a gory scene. He walked closer as Myra’s eyes widened at his gigantic wolf figure. The way the fire reflected off his mixed color fur of deep tan, copper, and warm brown cast a soft, shifting glow that turned the immensely volatile atmosphere into a safe haven for her. Though she was still scared and a bit dizzy, she let him come close to her. Seeing she wasn’t resisting and the string of fate binding them, Drey got excited and nuzzled his head on her shoulder.

Meanwhile, on the other side, the moment Elisa’s bare skin came in contact with the angry blue flames of the hellfire, her eyes bulged out at once. This sudden, searing and petrifying pain of getting immolated was ten times more intense and immense than the blisters she had suffered on her feet when she went in search of the Compendium of Enigma. Her skin receptors were reacting to the extreme heat; her reflexes were screaming to save herself. She screeched in desperation, "AAaAAAAaaaaaaAAAAAaA," her voice shrill with agony and horror. She attempted to crawl her way out, but Leo stood on the edge of the fire like a guard, not letting her get out at any cost.

Hearing her anguished cry, Aamon bellowed, "NOOOOO~~~~~ .... LET ME GOOO~~~~" He thrashed around with all his might to free himself, but the Lycan twins were launching their attacks at him one after another, not giving him any chance to escape.

Elisa let out another agonising, bone chilling wail. Her tendons, her skin, her hair, everything was on literal fire now. Her skin had started to char, blisters began to appear, and the splits opened as moisture evaporated from her skin pores. With one last attempt, she cried out loud, her vocal cords stretched to their absolute limit, "AAAAAAMMOONNNN~~~ .... HELP ME~~~~ ..."

Unleashing a hellish surge of dark energy, Aamon somehow shattered the twins’ grip on him in a flash of black fire. The sudden burst rattled both Alex and Rave as they were pushed away at the same time. Breathlessly, he scrambled wildly towards Elisa, whose clock of life was ticking by every passing second.

Aamon tried to control the hellfire he himself had created, but it didn’t die down. The blue flames ignited even more than before, speeding the process. "MY QUEENN~~~~ .... NOOOOO ... YOU CANNOT DIE. NOOOOO~~~~ ...," he let out a mournful, pain stricken cry and jumped inside the fire himself, forgetting what damage it could do to him.

Bearing tremendous pain, he somehow managed to take Elisa out, but it was far too late now. Her body was completely burnt now, with no sign of intact skin on it. She was truly dead; her body parts were barely attached.

Holding her body in his arms carefully, he called for her, his voice trembling yet tender, etched with desperation, "My~ ... my~ .... Queen. Ope~n yo~ur ey~es, wake up~ ... you are going to go back to hell tonight. You are going to become the queen of hell, Wake~ ... up~ ... Just wake up," but Elisa couldn’t respond; her remains were ready to mix with dust.
