(Myra’s POV)
"Where am I? What is this place now?" I mumbled to myself as my eyes darted around. I was standing in the middle of an endless flowery field filled with white, clean daisies. The sun kissed meadow like scent was brightening the atmosphere with its subtle fragrance. I breathed in the delicate scent, and every inch, every pore on my body tingled. The landscape was nothing but stunning, filled with endless daisies. The sky featured a gentle pale blue shade, and the cotton-like clouds contributed to a serene atmosphere.
After the awestruck moment ended, I glanced around. There was no one in sight. I frowned a little with confusion, but soon a thought arose in my mind, and my brows smoothed. ’Is it the moon goddess again? Did she bring me here?’
I called for her, "M~ ... Ms.~ .... Moon Goddess?"
The only reply that came back was the melodious chirping of the birds flocking around and the sweeping, rustling sound of the daisies as they brushed together because of the gentle breeze that was blowing.
I moved forward, taking slow steps and once again called her, this time a bit too loudly, "Ms. Moon Goddess? Are you here?"
Instead of the moon goddess’s answer, this time, I heard a low, playful chuckle rumbling coming from behind me. Instantly, I pivoted around to find a giant creature walking towards me.
My breath caught in my throat, my intestines knotted, and my eyes flew open at the sight of a majestic royal Lion in its full glory. Each step was quiet, heavy and slow. I shivered looking at him. He was just eight or ten meters away from me. Thrown off guard, I misstepped and stumbled back, landing on my butt.
’What the~ ....? Wh~ ... who is he and what is that on his back?’ My mouth agape; he wasn’t just an ordinary lion, but he had giant, luscious, pristine white feathered wings. The sheer sight rattled my mind, yet my hazels remained fixated on him. The sight of such a ferocious animal walking in a sea of white made the lion look celestial, as if he was the sun himself. It was enchanting, to be honest.
I was panicking inside and wanted to run, but my legs didn’t cooperate, nor did my body.
When he was around five meters away, I saw the colour of his eyes. They weren’t golden like I have seen in documentaries, and then, by instinct, I knew who he was.
His clean, aquarium-like greenish blue eyes were on me and nothing else. The softness, the tenderness they held confirmed his identity.
I called out his name, my voice breathy and raspy, as he stood right in front of me, "Elio~ ...."
He settled down quietly. Maybe it was my imagination, but I saw him grin, his sharp teeth on display. Then I felt a few daisies landing on my face out of nowhere. I tilted my head to find he was wagging his long tail, excitedly. ’How adorable.’ It brought a smile to my lips and eased all my anxiety and panic, though I suppressed it quickly.
I got up at once and approached him, my steps light. His warm cedar wood fragrance infiltrated my system as the next thing I knew, I was raising my hand to feel his furry face.
He clearly liked what I did as his tail wagged like crazy, the bright yellow centred flowers bending and waving together by the pendulum movement. The moment my hands brushed against his luscious, golden mane, he tilted his head, nuzzling into my palm, enjoying every bit of it. I called his name again, without thinking, "Elio~ ...." and caressed his forehead softly. He closed his eyes, satisfied.
Seeing him like this, I couldn’t help myself any longer. The urge to feel his warmth on me made me desperate. I circled my hands around his neck and embraced him. I felt him melting into the hug, clinging to me like a colossal golden retriever, and I melted too. His woody, dry scent surrounded me protectively, possessively.
I don’t know for how many seconds, minutes or even hours we were standing like this, but when I pulled away, he was no longer in his animal form.
