maire Husband
The day after, Lysander caught sight of Heath and Aurora snuggled up together on a hospital bed, and couldn’t help but pinch the bridge of his nose, fighting the urge to jab them both with a syringe. He silently told himself, “Don’t get mad… don’t get mad…” Getting angry with those two would only end up driving him nuts.
These past few days, Heath and Aurora have been recuperating at the KING organization’s base under Lysander’s care, and they’ve been healing up pretty fast.
Aurora was dying to see the place where Heath had lived, and finally got the okay from Eamon. With Jay tagging along, they wandered all around the KING base, getting to know every nook and cranny, even where each blade of grass was.
When they were on the verge of getting moldy from all the healing, Lysander finally gave the nod for them to head back.
As long as Lysander said they were okay, it meant they really were alright. Heath’s gunshot and knife wounds were nearly all healed up, and Aurora was completely back to normal.
Kieran booked them a flight back to their city for the next morning. This time, Aurora boldly took Heath’s hand. From now on, she had nothing to fear as long as she stuck by this man. For the rest of her life, nothing but death could part them.
During the many hours of the flight, Aurora fell asleep in Heath’s arms, and Kieran, being considerate, brought over a blanket which Heath gently covered her with.
Kieran whispered, “Boss, about the Pendletons…”
Heath raised his hand to stop him, saying coldly, “We’ll talk when we get back.”
Kieran nodded and went back to his seat.
After landing in the capital, Aurora, still groggy, followed Heath off the plane. Kieran had already arranged for a car to pick them up. Still not fully awake, Aurora got in the car and fell asleep again.
The car took them straight back to their luxurious home. Heath carried Aurora inside and tucked her into bed, making sure she was comfortable before he left the room.
Kieran, waiting in the living room, said, “Boss, while you and Miss Aurora were away, the city’s been turned upside down. It’s not going to be easy for her to
go back to the Pendletons now…”
Heath, standing by a large window watching the busy streets, said coldly, “With me here, nothing will be difficult for her.”
Aurora woke up at 7 in the evening, and realizing she was in the familiar surroundings of their lavish home, she knew she had arrived.
Having gotten used to sleeping in Heath’s arms, she felt at peace enough to fall asleep again, probably wouldn’t wake up even if the sky fell.
After washing up, she found Heath in the living room working on some documents. Yawning, she walked over, “Back and straight to work? Lysander said you shouldn’t overdo it.”
Heath smiled and pulled her over, “Already bossing me around and we’re not even married yet?”
Aurora rolled her eyes. “Who wants to boss you around?”
“You do, Heath said with a smile.
Aurora didn’t respond, just rubbed her belly, I’m hungry…
Heath led her to the dining room, saying helplessly, ‘If you didn’t wake up, I would have had Lysander check if you took sleeping pills, you little pig.”
At the dining table, Aurora started eating the moment she picked up her bread, muttering, “I’m not a pig!”
