Medical Genius Unspeakable Marriage (Matthew Larson) novel Chapter 3725

The burly men writhed in pain and kept begging the clinic owner. "Hurry—take the needles out of us!"

The owner's face went pale. "The needles pierced the acupoints. I really can't get them out. Please, forgive me. I'll pay you plenty in compensation for your ruined legs."

They cursed him. "You call yourself an alternative medicine practitioner, and you can't even remove the needles? Our legs are ruined—what good is money to us now?"

When they realized the owner couldn't help, they crawled to Matthew's feet.

"Doctor," they said, ashamed, "we were blind. We took this crooked owner's money and did his dirty work. We see our mistakes now. Please, help us—remove the needles. We've got families; we can't lose our legs!"

Looking at those hulking men on the verge of tears, Matthew thought for a moment and offered a bargain. "I can remove the needles from your legs," he eventually suggested, "but you have to do one thing for me."

"Name it, doctor!" They begged, kneeling and grateful.

"Cut this clinic owner's legs off and toss them out to the dumpsite."

The owner went white and tried to slip away. The leader of the group blocked him with a raised cleaver.

"Hey," he said, voice cold, "you've been doing a lot of rotten things. Now you've crossed someone powerful and dragged us into it. For our own survival, we have to act. Don't feel wronged—this is the retribution you earned."

"How… How dare you? Hurt me and you won't get a single cent. And if you protect me, I'll pay five times what I agreed to!"

The owner tried to bribe them again, but the men were unmoved by money when the price was losing their legs.

"Stop wasting time arguing with him. If we stall any longer, our legs will be ruined for good!"

The leader of the group nodded. Several of the men pinned the owner to the floor. One raised a cleaver and brought it down on the man's legs.

A horrible scream cut through the air as both legs were severed, and blood pooled around them.

What he found were cheap, spoiled supplies—some clearly rotten, others barely fit for sale. Those tainted herbs could only worsen, or even kill, unsuspecting patients.

He destroyed them on the spot and was about to leave when something caught his eye: a nondescript door hidden behind the wall cabinet.

When he stepped closer, he saw a hidden lock shaped like the Eight Trigrams. Eight holes had to be aligned with the trigram positions before the door would yield.

Matthew only glanced at it once, then placed his hand on the wheel.

"Heaven, Earth, Thunder, Wind, Water, Fire, Mountain, Lake—return to your places!"

The grinding of iron chains echoed in the dark as the door slowly swung open, revealing a secret chamber within.

However, before Matthew even crossed the threshold, the coppery stench of human blood hit his nose. A glint of ice flashed in his eyes. As expected!
