He'd deliberately withdrawn his presence, trying not to draw attention, and yet every woman he met seemed sharper than the last. Even throwing money around didn't work—they all insisted on having him do something.

Kelsey nodded obediently, though the playful glint in her eyes said she'd noticed his subtle frustration.

"The Hollow Fangs are a mid-tier group based in the southern part of District 13. They've got over a thousand members and are well-stocked with various kinds of firepower.

"Their base is close to Avenue 49, which gives them a convenient escape route. Any time they cause trouble, they just vanish into Avenue 49 and wait until things cool down before reappearing.

Figures. Morton's already been roped in without knowing it, Matthew thought, then turned back to Kelsey and said casually, "Tell me about the Medusa Gang now."

Matthew's gaze turned dark and unreadable. "In a place like this, if rumors of ghosts start making the rounds—and they keep spreading—that only means someone's pushing them from behind. And whoever's pushing those rumors… is the root of the problem."

He didn't bother saying whether he believed or not. He simply laid out his deduction.

"You're right," Kelsey said. "The cries happen every night, without fail. It's deeply unsettling. We had a professional team analyze the pattern. The only group that operates in this exact style… is the Medusa Gang."
