Ronny growled, "Still, how could I ever forgive the d*mned b*stard who murdered my friend? How could I allow that man to live when he's trying to convince me to become a backstabbing monster? So, I used that same dagger he had murdered my friend with and avenged him."

Matthew could still recall how Luna had told him that Ronny had been shaking from excitement when the masked man had offered that dagger up to him.

That was one tidbit he didn't share with Ronny earlier.

Besides, Ronny claimed that he had been shaking due to grief upon learning that Luna's father had been killed in cold blood.

The final piece of the jigsaw puzzle fitted perfectly.

Ronny wasn't finished as he said, "After I buried Luna's father, I soon discovered that Luna was nowhere to be found. The only person left in my care was her sister. At the time, her father was dead, her mother was fleeing from danger, and her sister was missing. So, I adopted her.

"I've been searching for Luna and her mother over the years. Yet, I hadn't even gotten a single clue about their whereabouts. I began to assume the worst, worried that they might've been murdered by those masked men as well.

"So, you have no idea how glad I am to find out that Luna is alive and well. Still, you're not entirely wrong in claiming that I've killed my best friend. After all, Luna's father died because of my carelessness."

Ronny was drowning in guilt, especially toward Luna. He genuinely believed that none of this would have happened if he had taken the time to pay her father a visit.

Hang on. Ronny said he adopted Luna's sister. Yet, Ryan and the others have never said anything about Ronny having kids except for one Miss Ariya, Matthew thought to himself.

"Where is the sister now?" Matthew inquired.

There was a look of guilt on Ronny's face. He couldn't even bring himself to look at Matthew as he mumbled, "She accompanied me to District 13 a few months ago and has been missing ever since. I still haven't found her."

"How many kids do you have?" Matthew pressed.

"I don't have any kids of my own. The only child that I have in my care is Luna's younger sister," came Ronny's prompt reply.

Matthew finally connected the dots. Ariya was the adopted daughter Ronny was talking about. She was Luna's sister.

It seemed that this was all just a big misunderstanding. Ronny did not order the murder of Luna's father!

"One of the reasons why I've come to District 12 is because Luna asked me to kill you to avenge her father. Now that we've cleared the air, I will not be reaping your life today," Matthew said.

Ronny sighed in relief upon hearing his words.

Matthew continued, "The other reason I'm here is to send Ariya home."

What Ronny needed most right now was a good sleep to regain some strength for his treatment.

Ronny drifted off into a deep sleep with a quick prick of Matthew's silver needle.

Meanwhile, the four butlers patiently waiting outside Ronny's ward nearly fell asleep due to the long wait.

Ryan could tell from personal experience that Matthew's medical skills were definitely top-notch!
