Over in the buyers' section, the once-confident professors and doctors were getting restless.
"Professor Watson, what's the verdict?"
"Did you find anything?"
"Is there a problem with the port the ship provided? Did they alter Specimen Fourteen's data?"
"Say something!"
But Watson's lips just parted and closed. His face grew whiter by the second, and he couldn't force a single word out.
Thorne had been watching him closely.
Seeing Watson in this state, his brows knitted fiercely, an ominous premonition brewing in his chest.
"You two, go help him."
He turned and pointed at two other professors from their team.
They exchanged a glance and immediately hurried over.
After being cleared by Jerrick's men, they crossed the security perimeter and flanked Watson.
"Professor Watson, pull up the logs."
"Let's take a look. It's probably just some hidden parameter..."
Watson wiped the sweat from his forehead and stepped half a pace back.
Right... maybe he had missed something.
Let them check. They would definitely find something!
The two men stood on either side of the screen.
Initially, both wore expressions of deep suspicion.
One of them even tried checking their own equipment's operation logs for the flaw.
But when they truly laid eyes on the data inside the simulation port, their expressions shifted just as Watson's had.
In less than five minutes, cold sweat dotted their foreheads, and they looked identical to Watson.
Pale, stiff, they stared at the data on the simulation port, their lips moving uselessly, unable to utter a syllable.
They swallowed hard and kept working.
