Logan’s heart was bigger than any ocean, but right now, it just made everyone else look like they’d seen a ghost.
Were they scared? No, they were downright terrified.
When Logan suddenly reached for the case, everyone else scrambled back, like it might explode. Oliver tried to stop him. Josefina let out a sharp yelp. But Logan ignored them all and opened the case anyway.
He glanced at them, calm as ever. “Relax, it’s not dangerous.”
Oliver stared at him, remembering what Josefina had warned: Logan’s mind worked on a whole different level. If he stayed on a good path, that was a blessing. But if someone with the wrong intentions got to him... the consequences didn’t bear thinking about.
Both big cases were open now. One was full of weapons. The other? Stuffed with medical waste—dangerous, illegal, the kind of thing that could ruin lives.
Percy froze, panic on his face. “Logan, close that case—now!” he shouted, pointing to the one on the right.
Viruses. Bioweapons. This was serious—nothing to mess around with.
Oliver waved over two guys, and together they hauled the box over to Percy, who would take it back for destruction and inspection. Some things, you just had to leave to the experts.
Percy didn’t waste a second. He rushed out with his team, already dialing his lab staff. “Get up! Everyone, to the lab! Emergency!” All-nighter, no question.
…
Out in the yard, Logan stood with Oliver’s phone, the camera fixed on Josefina’s exasperated face.
He wilted on the spot. “Master, I messed up.”
He looked like a kid who knew he was in trouble, chewing on his lip, desperate for forgiveness.
“Logan, you really did,” Josefina said, her voice stern. “I’m a little upset.”
“I’m sorry, Master. I won’t do it again. I’ll listen to you from now on, okay?” His voice was quiet, almost pleading.
“I’ve asked Luke to come get you. Stay at his place and don’t wander off, alright?” Josefina sounded tired.
