Moon Phased: The Triple Claim novel Chapter 12

Chapter10-2

A smile formed on the boy’s face, as he stared down at me, and just when he was about to agree to take me home, Chance let out a growl that sounded like the low growl I had heard after school during the commotion with his brother. The smile that had formed on the boy’s face quickly dissipated and in its place was the look of fear, as his eyes moved from mine to Chance’s.

Sorry, I can’t give you a ride home.” Is all the boy said, before he took off, not giving me a second look.

Letting out my own version of a growl, I turned back to look at Chance, who was just standing there staring at me, as his chest heaved as if he had just run a marathon. Pointing my finger at him, I poked him in the chest, before I began to say to him, Listen, you might be top dog here, and everyone here is afraid of you, but I’m not. I will just walk home since everyone else is afraid to go against your wishes.

I went at that moment to push past him, but found myself being stopped, as in one swift motion, Chance had me by the arm, swinging me over his shoulder, as I let out a scream, before he began to walk the path back to the road where the cars were parked.

You have got to be kidding me. Put me down.”

Chase was right about you. You are a pain in the ass.” Chance says, as I move to kick my legs, going to show him just how much of a pain in the ass I could be, but his hand comes down hard across my ass, making me stop kicking my legs, as I leave out a yelp.

What the hell, Chance. That hurt.

Instantly, I feel another growl rumbling in his chest, as he says to me in a cool sexual tone, Baby Girl, you don’t know what pain is.”

My thighs instantly tightened together, as once again the unholiest of images began to play out in my head, just by the sound of his damn voice and the way he called me Baby Girl. Jesus, I needed to get a grip on my raging hormones with this brother, before I ended up throwing myself at him, just to fulfil these crazy ass fantasies he had put in my head.

Before I knew it, we were at his truck and the door was open, as he placed me in the passenger seat, freeing me from his hold. Of course, I tried to escape out the other side, but he quickly grabbed back ahold of me, pulling me back to the passenger seat.

Seriously Raven, stop fighting me.He now says to me, as he grabs the seatbelt to put it on me, but I don’t stop fighting him, as I say to him, Let me go. I don’t want to go with you. You are forcing me against my

will.

To my surprise, Chance stopped trying to put the seatbelt on me, as he took a step back, giving me the chance to slip out of his truck, and move away from him. Now standing on the old dirt road, I looked to my left before I looked to my right, not even knowing which way home was, as the cars were parked in both directions.

Chance slowly appeared around the front of his truck, and moved to the driver’s door, before he casually leaned against his truck staring at me, as if he was waiting for me to decide which way I was going to start walking. Seeing which direction his truck was part, I knew that he had to have driven in the opposite direction to get here, so I decided that had to be the way back to the main road.

Turning on my heels, I began to walk down the old dirt road, praying I was heading in the right direction, because as I looked at the sky, I could see that the moon was appearing, telling me that night was going to be soon upon us, and I didn’t want to be stranded in these woods alone. As I walked down the old dirt road, I heard Chance’s truck door slam, before the sound of his engine roared to life, and I turned to see him making a Uturn in the middle of the road.

Stepping off the road, I continued to walk, giving him the road to pass me by, but as he drove the truck past me, he slowed down, making me think that he was going to try and grab me again, but to my surprise, he just casually said out the window to me, Have it your way. Before he drove off, leaving me to walk

home.

I don’t know why at that moment I was upset with him, because he had given me what I wanted, but as I continued to walk down the old dirt road, I was beginning to second guess my own choices, especially when the sound of a howl now fills the surrounding air.
