Moon Phased: The Triple Claim novel Chapter 11

Chapter10-1

Raven’s POV

A chuckle inadvertently slips from my lips, as I say below my breath, Isn’t this just so convenient for you.

Chance’s eyes narrowed as he looked down at me, before he asked me, What are you talking about?

Looking away from him, I grabbed my towel, as began to dry off, while! now say, Chase after school, then Cash on the trail, and now me being conveniently left here by Mazie, so that you will have to take me

home

Wait. You think I planned this just to get you alone?

I paused, drying off as I stared at him, realizing by the look on his face he had nothing to do with Mazie leaving me behind, making me begin to blush, as I realized that I had misspoken. I’m sorry. It’s just that

with the way Chase acted towards me today, and then Cash trying to kiss me, I thought that you were

going to try and take your shot at me too.”

Chance let out a chuckle, before his face turned serious, while he took a step towards me, as his hand

reached up and began to caress my cheek, sending a shiver down my spine, all while he stared deep into

my eyes. My heart felt like it was going to beat out of my chest, as I began to feel lightheaded, hypnotized

by his gaze, as I began to wonder if I had taken on more water than I had thought.

But then his hand moved from my cheek and the feeling instantly disappeared, as he said to me,

Whatever you do with my brothers is not my business/As for me, I don’t need to get you alone, although

the thought is enticing.

I swallowed hard, as his words put unholy images in my head, especially seeing him standing in front of

me in only a pair of swimming trunks, with his abs and that V of his all on display for me, making me lick

my lips at just the mere thought.

I guess I’m not the only one enticed by the thought of it.Chance says with a smirk now on his face,

pulling me from the unholy images he had placed in my head, making me rethink if he was as innocent in all this as he says he is.

My cheeks were now on fire, as I knew he knew what I was thinking about, but I couldn’t allow him to believe that he had gotten to me. Don’t flatter yourself.I said to him as I began to pull my coverup over my head, thinking there had to be someone else here that would be willing to drive me home. But as I looked around the waterhole, I realized that I knew absolutely no one left here.

Sliding my shoes on, I moved to step around him to head out to where the cars were parked along the road, hoping that someone was about to leave, and I could ask them for a ride, but as I tried to step past Chance, he asked me, Raven, where are you going? As he steps directly in my path, blocking me from being able to leave.

Not daring to stare back into those eyes of his, or allow him to see the blush he has put on my face, I keep

my head turned away from him, as I say, Where does it look like I am going? I’m going home.

Good. I knew you would come to your senses.

My head instantly snapped back to look at him, as my eyes narrowed, and if looks could kill, he would be dead right now. I thought Chase was cocky, but Chance here put the icing on the cake, making me realize why Mazie and Cash had warned me about him at lunch today.

I didn’t say I was going home with you.I told him in a sharp tone, just as a boy walked past us and I

grabbed a hold of the boy’s arm, giving him a forced smile, as I batted my eyelashes at him. Mind giving a girl a ride home.I asked the boy, knowing there was no way possible he would refuse a girl in need.
