Moon Phased: The Triple Claim novel Chapter 145

Chapter 77-2

More tears seeped from my closed eyes, as speaking my feelings out loud felt like a relief to share them with someone, even though realistically they sound so damn delusional. Here I was crying my eyes out to my boyfriend’s brother, who I had just made out with, about his other brother not wanting me.

This whole situation was beyond fifty shades of fuckery, as it was in a freaking league of its own. I now began to wonder if that was why my mother had left all those years ago, because even though she was in love with Evan, she couldn’t shake the unwanted feelings she had for

Ethan.

Cash leans into me, wrapping his arms around me, holding me to his chest, before he begins to gently rock me in his arms, as he whispers softly into my ear, It is natural for you to be hurting right now. Your mind and body are programed to want him and to love him, as you are

fated to be with all three of us.

Shaking my head against his chest, while more tears fall from my eyes, I say back to him,

And if I don’t want this?

Cash stopped rocking me in his arms, as my words hit him, before I heard him swallow hard, taking in his own deep breath. A few seconds pass, before he finally says to me, Then you have the right to reject us. You can walk away, just like your mother did.

Once again, I felt pain in my heart, but this time it felt like it was being pierced with a damn knife, as I thought about rejecting all three of them, and getting the hell out of here by taking Mrs. Jacobs up on her offer. It was clear that history was repeating itself, and if it truly did have something to do with me being here, maybe the way to save everyone was for me to

leave.

But just as that thought crossed my mind, Cash leaned down and placed a soft kiss on my forehead, and whispered to me, Although I do believe you should give this a chance, and if this isn’t what you want, then you can walk away with no regrets. But if you walk away right. now, I think both of us will live our lives with a big whatif hanging over our shoulders.”

Damn it, why did he have to be the voice of reasoning? I knew that he was right when he said I would live the rest of my life with a big what if hanging over my shoulders, as I was already regretting even thinking about it. Why couldn’t I just stick to my initial plan of just doing my time here and then getting the hell out of here? Why did I have to go and get feelings all of a sudden?

Turning around in his embrace, I leaned my back now against the railing as I stared up into his eyes, while his arms remained on both sides of me, refraining me from leaving. But

leaving was the last thing now on my mind, as Cash had convinced me that I needed to give

this a shot.

Reaching up, I caressed his cheek with the back of my hand, before Cash moved his head to the side, placing a gentle kiss on my hand, as he stared deep into my eyes, begging me to stay. I was just about to tell him that he was right when I unfortunately heard the familiar scream of pain come from within the house.

My mind and my body instantly reacted to the scream, as I tried to step away from Cash to go to Chase, but surprisingly, Cash stopped me from going to him. I stared up at Cash, giving him a confused look, before Cash said to me, He made his bed, let him lay in it. I am not going to allow his ignorance to pain you any longer. Let him be the one to suffer for his choices.

I wanted to argue with Cash, because I could hear the immense pain Chase was in, but he was right once again. Jessica was by his side by his choice, and even if I did go to him to ease his pain, she would never allow me close enough to help him. Nevertheless, I wasn’t able to just block out his screams of pain, and the desire to go to him, as long as I was able to be earshot of him.

I need to get out of here.” I finally admitted to Cash, as I tried and mentally blocked out Chase’s pleas for me to come to him through his screams of pain.

A mischievous smirk forms on Cash’s face as he says to me, I thought you would never ask. “Before he pulls out a set of keys from his pocket.

It didn’t take me long to realize that the set of keys belonged to me, as I turned around and noticed my car was now parked between the two trucks in the driveway.

What do you say, love? Shall we take her for a spin and see what she can really do?He asks me now with a huge ass grin on his face, and even though I knew he truly wanted to take my car out for a spin, I knew he was doing this for me. He was trying to take my mind off what was going on here, but the truth was Chase wasn’t my only worry.

What about Chance? I just can’t leave him.”

Chance is fine. He is stronger than Chase. Plus, he would want me to get you away from here, especially away from Jessica.

I looked past Cash towards the door, as more screams from Chase echoed out of the house, and I realized I couldn’t stay there a second longer, or I was going to go mad, thinking that I had to go to him.

Snatching the keys from Cash’s hand, I ran towards my car, leaving Chase’s screams for help behind me, as I took Cash up on his offer to whisk me away, while I prayed the distraction

worked. In all honesty, it was breaking my heart hearing Chase in pain, knowing I could help him, even though he had picked Jessica once again over me. But I knew there was nothing I could do for him as long as Jessica was here, so I was doing what was best for me, and that was leaving, so I didn’t have to feel his pain either.

With the ranch now in the rearview mirror, I felt somewhat relieved that I couldn’t hear

Chase’s screams of pain, but in my heart, I could somehow still feel him calling
