“What the hell is this?” I asked while my eyes widened in disbelief and the shock of what Chance had just revealed to me, as I moved towards a wall that was lined with what looked like thick metal
chains.
Extending my hand, I reached out to grab one of the chains, but Chance was quick to stop me from touching it. Turning to look at him, Chance shakes his head slightly, as he lets go of my arm, before he says to me, “They’re silver chains, doused in wolfsbane, meant to hold our kind prisoner. The slightest touch will burn right through our flesh.”
“Prisoner?” I whispered under my breath, before I looked back at the wall wondering why on earth this room existed in my grandmother’s house.
Taking a step back from the wall of chains, I felt my stomach turn into a knot, as I wondered if anyone had ever been tortured here before, and if my grandmother herself had ever chained someone to this wall. Shaking my head, knowing that this was just obscene to even think of, I said to Chance, “I don’t understand why my grandmother has this hidden room, right beneath her bed. I
can’t even imagine her using this.”
“This room has been here far longer than your grandmother has been alive. I am pretty sure it was built when the house was built.” Chance explains to me, and I remember my grandmother telling me that her father had built this house, making him the one that would have been responsible for
constructing such a horrible room.
“Then my great grandfather Wilson, must have built this, but I don’t understand why he would have built it, if what you say is true, because the wolf gene would have been past down through him.” I say now, more confused than ever, because nothing he had told me was making a bit of sense to
“I have a couple of different theories on why the room was built, but I am not sure any of them are correct, because honestly, I am just finding out myself that your bloodline is connected to this pack
and territory.”
“Wait. I don’t understand. Are you telling me that you never knew my family was a part of your pack until I arrived?” I asked Chance, even more confused, because my grandmother had lived here her whole entire life, and it didn’t make sense that no one knew about a connection between my family
and their pack until now.
Hell, my mother had dated his father for heaven’s sake, and if what Chance was telling me was
true, how was it that his father and his uncle hadn’t been able to discover the connection back

then? I was beginning to believe that Chance was just wanting so desperately for it to be true, so that I could be one of them and take my place beside him and his brothers as their Luna, but honestly, I wasn’t buying this whole thing about me being a werewolf.
“I’m saying that my brothers and I didn’t know. I believe that my father and uncle knew, along with my grandmother, hell I believe even some or most of our pack members know, but as for our generation, it was all kept hushed.” Chance now explains to me, and for some reason I believe him, about it being kept hushed from our generation, because the elders of this town definitely had thei way of keeping secrets.
Looking around the hidden room, there wasn’t much in it, other than the torture wall of chains, and a small table that held a few items on top of it. It literally was a cemented hole in the floor, with no windows or doors, with just one way out, and that was straight up into the master bedroom in my grandmother’s house.
Looking at the ceiling of the room, my eyes squinted, as I could swear, I could see markings on the ceiling. Pulling my cell phone out of my pocket, I turned on the flashlight, pointing it directly at the ceiling of the small room, and to my surprise, I saw carvings in the exposed wood beams.
