Chapter 132-1
Chance POV
With an unsettling feeling in my gut, I was unable to go back to the ranch, especially knowing that Raven was at her grandmother’s house without direct protection from one of us. It was taking all the willpower I had inside of me not to turn back around and remain parked outside her house, but I knew that if Raven spotted me outside lurking, she would not be happy with me, as she had told me that she needed space tonight.
After everything she had learned today, I could see why she needed the night to compute it all, as it was a lot for one to take in, especially someone who wasn’t raised within our world. To be honest, she was taking it better than I thought, she would, but then again, Raven was different, just like us.
The only difference between her and us was the fact that she had been raised human, and it was going to take a while for her to accept our world and who she truly was. I had a feeling that she was on the verge o believing all of it, especially after her friend Lexi from California dropped a bomb on her.
Never in a million years would I have expected a witch to be involved, and I now knew that someone had been forking out some money to keep Raven safe. I had to wonder who was behind hiring Lexi and her family to watch over Raven all these years, as it was clear that they had a stake in keeping Raven safe.
Whomever it was, had to be somehow connected to Raven’s mother, because her mother had been in hiding all these years, and had obviously left here to avoid what was now coming for Raven. Piecing together what my father and my uncle had said, I took it that Raven’s mother wanted nothing to do with our world, and, by the looks of things, she had been trying to keep Raven as far away from it too, but fate has a funny way of finding a way to prevail.
With my mind unable to rest, and not able to get Raven out of my head, I turned back around, heading straight towards Raven’s grandmother’s house, not/caring now if she saw me lurking within the shadows. As long as I knew she was safe tonight, that was all that mattered to me, and if she was mad at me for being worried about her safety, then so be it.
It obviously wouldn’t be our first or last fight, as we had a lifetime to spend together if I had anything to do with it. One thing I knew about Raven was she was very forgiving, especially when it came to my brothers and me. If she could so easily overlook the hurtful things that Chase had done to her involving Jessica, then she could clearly overlook that I was worried about her wellbeing.

As I approached the house, something seemed off to me, and it didn’t take long for me to spot Jacob outside the house in the most peculiar pajama pants that I had ever seen. Even though his pants looked beyond ridiculous in this neck of the woods, it wasn’t his pants that had me thinking that something was wrong, but the fact that he was outside wondering around. It didn’t take me long to spot the glow in his hand, to realize that he had his cell phone held high in the air, as if he was trying to get a signal.
Knowing that there was no way in hell that I could take another ear–piercing scream from him tonight, I decided to shift back to my human form before stepping out of the shadows of the forest. Slowly I made my way out of the shadows, trying not to scare him with just my presence, as I knew that he scared easily
“What the hell are you doing out here? Is Raven, okay?” I finally asked him, as I made my way fully out of the forest, covering into the front yard of Raven’s grandmother’s house.
Jacob’s eyes instantly widened as he turned to look at me, but I realized quickly that I probably should

have put some pants on, because it was clear that his eyes were lingering more south than I would have Tiked them too. Seeing that Jacob, was a bit distracted by my nakedness, I covered my junk up, while I
said to him, “Up here California.”

I waited until his eyes were now on me) before I once again asked him what he was doing outside, and if Raven was okay.
It took him what seemed like a moment to process what I had asked him, and instead of answering my question, he responded with his own question for me, “Do all you werewolves walk around naked? I might just have to move here myself.”
My eyes rolled as I began to shake my head at him, knowing that his head was clearly in the gutter. I was just about to scold him, telling him this wasn’t the time to be joking around, when the wind shifted in my direction, carrying a scent that took me off guard.
My head snapped in the direction of the house, as a growl instantly rumbled from my chest. The scent that was being carried in my direction was a scent that I knew all too well, as it was a scent that I had to walk away from far too many times, leaving both my mate and I unsatisfied.
Although I knew that it was the scent of Raven’s arousal, I also knew that it was extremely potent compared to when I had aroused her myself, making me wonder who the hell she could possibly be with right now. I didn’t even bother asking Jacob another question, before I took off towards the front door of the house, knowing now exactly why he was outside and acting promiscuously, because someone else
was inside the house with Raven.
Unfortunately, my sense of smell was completely taken over by the domineering scent of Raven’s arousal, that I couldn’t smell a damn thing but her, leaving me in the dark of who could be inside the house, but that didn’t stop me from entering.
Swinging the front door open, I felt like I hit a brick wall, as all my senses at that moment heightened. I had no clue what the hell could be going on, as there was really only one explanation for how I was feeling, but that was literally impossible.
But my wolf, on the other hand, was telling me something different, as it was clear he was on edge, feeling a distinct pull towards our mate, as a certain appendage between my legs hardened and a desire I was finding hard to resist completely took over.
My head now seemed like it was in a haze, as it felt like I wasn’t in the right mindset, and I tried to take a step back outside, knowing that I wasn’t fully in control of myself, but the desire to be with our mate was clearly too much for my wolf and I to resist. So instead of taking a step back, I found myself stepping even further into the house.
The sound of running water is what caught my attention, making my head snap once again, but this time to the small little hallway that led back to Raven’s bedroom. A fog–like mist rose from the hallway, and it didn’t take me long to realize where it was coming from.
Before I knew what was happening, my wolf took over, guiding me right back the hallway, straight to the bathroom door where the steam rolled freely from the small crack under the door. Raven’s scent was now even more intensified, as the steam rose, carrying it straight to me. My one hand reached for the door handle, as my other hand reached for the door frame, and it was as if I was split into two on what to do.
I knew that if I opened this door, there was a very good chance that I wouldn’t be able to control myself, but the urge and desire I was now feeling to get to Raven were so intense that I didn’t think I could resist if I wanted to. For a split second, I thought maybe I could control the urges I was now having, but then I

heard a moan echo from within the bathroom out to my ears, making me lose any restraint that I could have possibly mustard.
My hand that was on the door handle at that moment won the battle, and the bathroom door went sailing open, revealing a sight wasn’t expecting before my eyes. One thing about being a triplet and mated to the same mate was that we were never supposed to be genetically jealous of each other’s relationship with our fated mate, but seeing Raven how in Chase’s arms, I couldn’t help but want to rip his hands off her.
After everything he had done to her, I couldn’t wrap my mind around how she could so easily forgive him, and right now, she was in his arms, willingly giving herself to him. A part of me was pissed, as Cash and I had made a pack about the order we would mark her as our mate, and we had also made it clear that it wouldn’t happen until she was obviously of age. But here Chase was, taking full advantage of our mate, as it was clear he was more than willing to do both of those things here and right now with her.
Even though I knew that it was crucial for all three of us to accept Raven as our mate, I still couldn’t help but think that Chase should be the last of the three of us that she accepts. With that thought, a growl of dominance roared from my chest, stopping Chase right in his tracks, grabbing his attention.
But it wasn’t only his attention that I had grabbed, but Raven’s attention too, as her head turned to look at me with her eyes fogged completely over with lust and desire, undoubtedly in heat. Just the mere sight of the desire in her eyes called out to me, and I couldn’t help but forget everything that i had just been thinking about, as all I wanted to do at that moment, was take her to the bedroom and make her mine.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t the only one affected by her heat, as Chase foolishly moved to stand between Raven and me, as if he was claiming his right to her. My wolf reminded me at that moment that we were the firstborn Alpha, and that we weren’t going to stand by and allow our little brother to dominate us, especially when it comes to our mate.
Stepping into the extremely small bathroom, I moved/straight toward Chase, standing tall right in front of him, showing him that I would not concede to him. But to my surprise, Chase stood his ground, not giving an inch from where he stood. The two of us stood nose to nose, as a growl rippled from both our chests, while we remained in a standoff.
But our standoff barely lasted a minute, as a scream from Raven overpowered the haze of her heat, bringing not only me back to my senses but also Chase, as we both turned our undying attention directly to Raven and her wellbeing.
