Chapter 174-3
But none of that mattered to me, not at this moment, because right now, I was with Cash, and I wasn’t going to allow any of those thoughts of death to take away this moment we were about to share. Regardless, if I broke my family’s curse or not, I just wanted to embrace this moment in time with him, because I now knew that none of us were guaranteed
tomorrow.
Cash’s nostrils flared and his eyes at that moment widened, before he removed his hand from my face, taking a step back from me, with a distressed look on his face, like he was trying to fight his own urge to be with me. Knowing why he was fighting his urge, I didn’t allow him to take more than that one step, before I stopped him by grabbing a hold of his hand, because he needed to know that it wasn’t just my heat that was causing me to want him.
Staring at my hand in his, I intertwined our fingers, giving it a slight squeeze, before looking
back up
at him. Unfortunately, Cash’s head remained lowered, as if he too was looking at our fingers intertwined, while he took long and steady breaths. It killed me seeing him like this, as I knew that he would never willingly take advantage of me, but he needed to know that I was freely thinking for myself this time.
With my free hand, I reached for his chin, cupping it in my palm before I pulled his head slightly up so that he would look at me, but as I raised his head, his eyes remained squinted tightly closed.
“Cash.” Whispered from my lips, hoping that he would open his eyes, but they remained shut.
Just like back at my grandmother’s house, my body began to betray me at that moment, as I felt this heat begin to take over. I did my best to fight it, not throwing myself at him like a damn dog in heat, because I wanted to convince Cash that it was me that wanted him, but I found myself doubling over in pain while a scream radiated from my lips.
Cash’s eyes finally popped open, and his arms quickly wrapped around me, sweeping my feet off the floor, and before I knew what the hell was happening, Cash was placing my body on the bed. Quickly, he moved to step back from the bed, but I was somehow quicker than him, catching him by the arm and pulling him back towards me with unhuman strength.
Fumbling with his words, Cash says to me, “Raven, your heat…” But before he could fumble the next word, I raised my other hand and placed my index finger over his lips to stop him.
Cash’s mouth shut while his eyes pleaded with me, as I knew this wasn’t the way he wanted our first time to be together. Just moments ago, he was more than willing to take me. because he knew that I was in my right mind, but right now he truly believed that it was my heat making me want him.
Chapter 174-3
Remembering back to that night at my grandmother’s house, I could see why he was apprehensive. Hell, I had to agree with him that I wasn’t myself, as the heat drove me to do things that I would never do in a million years, because I wouldn’t have the nerve. It wasn’t actually because I didn’t want to, it’s just that I wouldn’t have the courage, especially with all three of them on the same night.
But it was just me and him tonight, and my heat was bearable, at least to the point where I believed that I was thinking for myself. Now it was just a matter of trying to convince him of this, because I didn’t want this moment to end between us.
Bearing down the pain, I bit my bottom lip while I remained staring into Cash’s eyes, before I finally released my lip, and whispered to him, “I want you, Cash. Heat or no heat, I want you to make me yours.”
