Moon Phased: The Triple Claim novel Chapter 383

Chapter 186-2

RavenNow drew apologetically from his lips, while he reached for me this time with a damn death wish.

I’m telling you if I had canines right now, I would have ripped his hand right off, without a moment of hesitation, but thankfully for him, I didn’t just yet. Unfortunately, for now, all I could do was once again take another step back, recoiling from his touch.

Placing my right hand in front of me, I trembled in anger as I tried to maintain the space I put between us, while I said to him through the tears that I was doing my best to hold back,Don’t you dare touch me. You’re not the person I thought you were.

The look of pain instantly tormented his eyes, giving me some satisfaction knowing that my point was being received by him, but that little bit of satisfaction I was feeling was shortlived, as a sense of sorrow and pain hit me like a tsunami. It didn’t take a rocket scientist to understand what was going on here. Chase and I were now connected thanks to my bond with Cash, making this a losing battle for me.

Nothing pissed me off more than the fact that his pain was beginning to drown out my anger, causing me to feel guilty for trying to hurt him. GurrI just wanted to stomp my feet and throw one hell of a temper tantrum, because the last thing I wanted was to feel bad for him, but here I was lowering my hand that was keeping the small space between us.

But as I lowered my hand, the oversized tee shirt that hung loose on my petite body at that moment slid off my shoulder, drawing Chase’s eyes to my exposed flesh, opening a whole new can of worms with him. Chase now looked at me with hunger in his eyes, especially when his eyes landed on Cash’s mark on my neck.

A possessive low growl rumbled from deep within Chase’s chest, as his eyes remained hungerly on me, while he said to Lexi, Get the hell out of here.

You got to be freaking kidding me.” I said under my breath, feeling his new emotion of desire, as I tried putting even more space between us, but found myself backed against the

wall.

My eyes now moved between Lexi and Chase, wondering which one of them was the least of the two evils right now to deal with. I knew there was no way in hell I was going to be able to deny Chase with this damn bond we shared with Cash, making me believe that dealing with Lexi would be much easier, even though she was a witch.

But before I could decide, Lexi made the choice for me. Turning on her heels, she headed right for the door, while she said over her shoulder with a grin, Don’t do anything I wouldn’t

do, Raven.

I watched her give me a damn wink, just like old times when we were actual friends, or when at least I had thought that we were. But now I knew that was all a farce, and that I was nothing to her but just a paycheck, making me wonder even more why she was here right

now.

Unfortunately, that was going to have to wait, because she wasn’t giving me the chance to confront her at the moment. No, she was shutting the door, leaving me at the mercy of Chase and the mate bond that we share.

In the short period of time that my attention was on Lexi, Chase had closed the gap between us, and before I knew what was happening, he had my body pressed against the wall with my hands pinned above my head. Closing my eyes, I took a deep breath, trying to calm my raging hormones, but as I did this, I felt Chase’s warm breath on my neck, sending what restraint I had out the door.

My body wiggled beneath his hold, as I tried my best to free myself, in my last ditched attempt to put space between the two of us, but the temptation of the mate bond was too much. Chase’s rockhard body now had me pinned firmly against the wall, with no way to escape, as he continued to nestle his head in the crook of my neck.

With each exhale of his warm breath against my sensitive flesh, heat rose in my core, calling to my undeniable desire for him, even though, right at this moment I wanted to knee him in the nuts and free myself from him like I had done before. But this time was different, and I couldn’t bring myself to do it.

Even though there was a part of me that wanted to put a stop to this, there was a greater pull within me to press forward. I found not only my body betraying me with the soft moans slipping from my parted lips, but also my heart, as it began to beat in sync with his.

The only part of me that I was still in control of was my thoughts, but that little control was shot the moment I felt Chase’s lips over Cash’s mark. Instantly, I melted in his arms like butter, while all the anger I was once feeling towards him dissipated in a mere blink of an eye. An overwhelming need took over the entirety of my body, and I found myself surrendering to him and the bond.
