Moon Phased: The Triple Claim novel Chapter 430

Chapter 219

Raven’s POV

Lexi extended her hand out towards me, and just as the tips of my fingers connected with the palm of her hand, I felt someone firmly grab ahold of my left wrist. My head instantly snapped back just in time to see Cash, before everything in the room began to swirl, as I felt Lexi’s hand wrapping tightly around mine, drawing me in.

If it wasn’t for the conversation I had had with Jacob about Lexi’s little transporting ability, I would have been a bit apprehensive about what was happening. But knowing that she had safely transported Jacob from California to here, I knew that what was about to happen was nothing but a mere puddle jump for her.

Unfortunately, even knowing that this was safe, it didn’t stop the nausea from forming. As a child, I was never able to ride those damn spinning rides at the carnivals, and right now, with the room spinning out of control, it felt like I was on one of those rides in hyperspeed mode.

With my eyelids now squinted firmly together, I tightened my grip not only around Lexi’s hand but also Cash’s, as I tried my best not to lose the contents in my stomach, which thankfully wasn’t much. Thinking that I wasn’t going to be able to bear much more, I somehow found my way into Cash’s chest.

As his arms wrapped protectively around me, I quickly realized that he wasn’t alone, as Chase spun around my back, pinning me safely between them. Something about being in their arms alleviated enough of the nausea that I was able to open my eyes, and when I did, I found that the free ride from Lexi was over, as the surrounding space was slowly coming into view.

What the bloody hell?Chase said, distraught, before he tightened his hold around me, pulling not only me but Cash to the ground with him, while a black stream of darkness whizzed straight past us.

What the hell was that?Cash asked, as all three of us were looking around at the damn war zone in the middle of the god dang forest, Lexi had dropped us in.

A little bit of warning would have been nice from her of what we were getting ourselves into, but then, on the other hand, I didn’t ask questions before I raced to grab her hand either. But now that we were here, I could now see why they needed help, but I wasn’t quite sure how I was the one going to help them.

Thankfully, from what I could see, there was no army involved, just three familiar similarlooking massive black wolves going at it, destroying everything in their paths. At first, I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to distinguish who was who, but it didn’t take long for

me to realize which one was my grandfather.

As a cloud of pure black darkness reformed around one of the wolves with red glowing eyes, I knew right away that it had to be him. Thankfully, before that darkness could completely form, one of the other massive wolves jumped on his back. When they turned in our direction, I was quick to see that it was Liam’s wolf that had sunk his claws into our grandfather’s wolf, as his eyes glowed just as red and fierce as our grandfather’s did.

But even though it seemed like Liam’s wolf had the upper hand with his position, it looked like he was struggling to try to hold on, as our grandfather’s darkness began to swarm all around him. For a moment, I worried that the darkness was trying to feed off him, like it had done to me, but as I watched closely, I could see that Liam’s wolf was somehow repelling it. The only problem was that it looked like it was too much for Liam to have to hold on and to fight the

darkness off at the same time.

Sure enough, Liam’s wolf lost his grip, and as his wolf’s body went sailing in the air, I gasped, worried that he was about to get hurt. But thankfully, he landed on all fours, letting out one hell of a fierce growl, keeping our grandfather’s wolf’s attention on him, while Chance’s wolf came out of nowhere, ramming him right in the side.

I would have thought, at the speed of Chance’s wolf’s impact, my grandfather’s wolf would have gone sailing, but instead, the darkness that now encompassed him protected him from the impact, leading to Chance’s wolf feeling like he hit a brick wall, as he stumbled

backwards.

Cash and Chase, at that moment, both shifted into their wolves, and without a second of hesitation they charged simultaneously towards my grandfather’s wolf, as he raised his paw high in the air, ready to bring it down on Chance’s wolf. But before his claws could touch even a hair on Chance’s wolf’s head, Cash and Chase were both now pouncing on him like cats.

Thankfully, they both landed straight on top of his back, digging their claws into his flesh, causing him to howl out in pain, while they forced him to stumble a few steps back from Chance. But Chance’s wolf was struggling to get back to his feet, as it was clear he was still seeing stars from his previous impact.

Seeing that his brother was struggling to get up, Chase’s wolf, who had landed in the front position on my grandfather’s wolf’s back, began to nip and bite at whatever he could get his canines to sink into, to keep him as far away from Chance as possible.

doubled in size with a blink of an eye, surrounding the two of them to the point where I could barely see them. Getting to my feet, I wanted to shift into my wolf and join the fight, but I honestly had no damn clue how this shifting thing even worked.

Thankfully, Liam was here to help them, and to my surprise he was going for the same ramming technique that Chance had used and failed at. But as his wolf collided at full force with our grandfather’s wolf, there was a massive burst of energy that came from their collision, knocking me straight off my damn feet, while everything around me went foggy.

Instantly, I began to cough, as I rolled over, forcing myself to sit up, needing to know that everyone was okay, but as I leaned forward, I realized that I must have bruised a rib or two. Pushing through the pain, I got to one knee, as I was more worried about my mates and my brother, because the four of them were so much closer to the explosion than I was.
