Chapter 52-2

Chance slowly turned his head to look at me, as his eyes widened, before he said, “Second thought, maybe we should just head home.”

“Fat chance, Lover Boy. You brought me all this way, and I plan on dancing the night away, especially since you got me into this dress.” I said to him as I slipped my heels on my feet, before I opened my door and got out of the truck, forcing him to follow me.

As I moved around the front of the truck, I began to walk towards the back of the line that was formed outside the club, but Chance wrapped his arm around me, steering me straight to the door where a huge bouncer stood, while I whispered under my breath to him, “What are you doing?”

“Invitation only.” The bouncer said firmly to Chance, holding his hand up to stop us, while his eyes wandered from Chance to me, as they slowly made their way down my body, giving me the creeps.

Chance unwrapped his arm from around me, taking a step in front of me, as he pulled up the

cuff of his sleeve, exposing his forearm to the bouncer.

“My apologies Alpha.” The bouncer said, lowering his hand, before he stepped to the side, allowing us access to the door.

Chance wrapped his arm back around me, as the doorman opened the door for us to step inside, while I leaned into Chance and asked, “What just happened?”

Chance let out a chuckle, tightening his arm around me, pulling me closer into his side, before he said to me, “You wouldn’t believe me if I told you.”

But I didn’t have time to question him further on the matter, as another set of doors were being opened for us, and the sound of the music being played inside the club loudly filled the surrounding air.

As we stepped inside the nightclub, we moved to the banister that looked down at the dance floor beneath us, where at least a couple of hundred people were already dancing the night away. My eyes then moved to the bar where people were being served, and it didn’t take me long to realize this wasn’t an under-twenty-one establishment, making me wonder how Chance had pulled off getting us inside.

Taking my hand in his, Chance began to lead me down the stairs, while I continued to take in my surroundings. It was the first time I had been to a real nightclub, which was quite a bit different from the ones back home, especially with the erotic music that was being played and all the sexual tension that was in the air.

When we got to the bottom of the stairs, Chance guided me straight to the dance floor, where he pulled me into his arms, flush against his chest, before he leaned down and whispered into my ear, “You said you wanted to dance. So, let’s dance.”

Shit, I thought I was going to be the one seducing him on the dance floor, but oh my, how the tables had turned, especially when his body began to move against my own. I would never have taken Chance as a dancer, but boy was I mistaken.

Feeling the beat of the music and the sexual tension building between us, I decided to go for it, showing him a few moves of my own, as I wrapped my arms around his neck, and grinded my body against him, earning me a smirk to form on his face.

His hands moved to my hips, as I swayed them to the music, and I closed my eyes, indulging in this moment with him, while locking all my problems away in the back of my mind, just wanting to enjoy the rest of the night with him without any conflict.

We must have danced at least ten songs back-to-back, before Chance leans down and asks, “Do you need a drink?”

The sound of a cold beverage at that moment sounded refreshing, as my body felt like it was

on fire, from all the dancing and the sexual tension between us.

“Yes, please.” I said as I leaned into him so he could hear me over the music, before I took a

step back and began to fan my face, feeling my cheeks now on fire.

“I’ll be right back.” He said, placing a kiss on my forehead, before he stepped away from me

and headed towards the bar.

I thought about leaving the dance floor and finding somewhere to take a seat, but then my favorite song came on, and I decided to stay on the dance floor and dance by myself until he returned. Closing my eyes and feeling the beat of the song, I found myself getting lost in the music, as I began to sing under my breath to the lyrics, not paying a bit of attention to anyone around me, lost in my own little world.

Chance was right, I did miss the nightlife of California, and it was very considerate of him to think of it when he was deciding on where to take me on our date, although I believe he had other reasons too. It was clear that he was trying to convince me to stay in Beaumont, and that the area had similar activities to what I was used to, but what he didn’t realize was it

wasn’t about what California had to offer, it was about it being my home.

To be honest though, I was already starting to worry if I had crossed a line I shouldn’t have, as the thought of heading back to California leaving him behind seemed to feel impossible, especially after how I felt in the truck thinking that I had lost him. Either way, it was a bridge I was going to have to cross eventually, but right now I was committed to seeing where this

was going with us.

Strong arms at that moment snaked around me from behind, and I leaned back into what I thought was Chance now standing behind me, but I quickly realized that it wasn’t Chance, when a deep voice whispered into my ear, “Damn your sexy.”

My eyes instantly popped open, as I tried to pull away from the man’s grasp, having no luck, while the potent smell of alcohol reeked from him. “Let me go!” I yelled out to him, as I continued to struggle to release myself from his dirty hands.
