Mr. CEO Your Wife Has Wanted a Divorce for a Long Time novel Chapter 659

Chapter 659

Chapter 659

Nolan’s friend glanced over at his with a grin. “If you actually come out and say you don’t like someone, they must be a pretty

terrible person.”

They hadn’t gone far, so Julia and Yale caught every word.

Yale’s expression had already darkened the moment Nolan looked straight through Julia’s greeting like she wasn’t worth acknowledging. Watching Nolan and his friend twist the knife right to her face pushed him over the edge.

He knew why this was happening. Nolan and whoever that other guy was had to have gotten their impression of Julia from Maggie. She must have fed them some version of events that painted Julia in the worst possible light.

Even so, it infuriated him. Someone like Nolan, a man of his standing, was out here convicting Julia without knowing the full story.

Yale stared at their retreating backs, his face going cold.

Fine. He wanted to see the look on Nolan’s face when he finally found out who Maggie really was. Would he feel even a little bad about hurting a young woman over someone else’s lies?

He was already working out how to expose Maggie right then and there when Julia spoke up, her voice quiet and even. “Let’s go somewhere else.”

She turned and walked away without waiting for a response.

Yale snapped out of it and hurried after her. One look at her face told him she was shaken. He figured she was upset about being misjudged by Nolan, and he was about to say something when Julia beat him to it.

“I know you want to help, and I appreciate it. I really do.” A small smile crossed her face. “I’m okay.”

She gave a light tug at the subject.

“Didn’t

you say your

Were craving Western food? There’s a decent place right next door. My treat.”

The smile didn’t fool anyone. Yale could see she was forcing it, just trying to keep him from worrying. It made his chest tighten even more. He wanted to tell her he had a way to set the record straight with Nolan, that he could blow Maggie’s cover right in front of him. But the moment he thought about how that would drag Franklin into it, he held back.

Julia noticed Yale wasn’t pushing to go after Nolan anymore and let out a quiet breath of relief

She knew he had the wrong idea. But the truth was…

Nolan was Maggie’s professor. That meant he knew everything about the history between them. He’d always known. And yet, every time he’d crossed paths with Julia before today, he’d never once brought any of it up. His attitude toward her had always been cool. but he’d never put his feelings on display like this.

The fact that he’d broken from his usual pattern today was its own kind of message. He was letting her know, in his way, that he knew exactly what had gone on between her and Maggie.

And chances were, Nolan had always understood exactly what she was thinking too.

Mr. CEO, Your Wife Has Wanted a Divorce For a Long Time

Chapter 659

After lunch, she rode back to Wilson Group in Nolan’s car.

Un the way, she had her phone out, typing back and forth with someone about work. When they pulled up in front of the building, Maggie climbed out with her phone in hand, said goodbye to Nolan, and was about to head in when Nolan pinched the bridge of his nose, rolled down the window, and held out the bag she’d left sitting on the seat beside her.

The rest of the team was just getting back from their own lunch. They caught sight of Nolan in the car.
