Chapter 6
Just as the agents are about to drag Sienna and Dominic away-
“STOP!”
A sharp command cuts through the crowd.
Everyone turns.
An elderly man in a charcoal–gray traditional suit is rushing toward us, leaning heavily on a cane.
“Ms. Sinclair. I am deeply sorry for what you’ve endured.”
He’s breathing hard but still manages to bow respectfully.
Dominic’s face goes white.
‘Grandpa? What the hell are you doing here?”
Harrison completely ignores him and walks straight up to me.
This is my fault. My negligence as an elder let you suffer this humiliation.”
I keep my face neutral and help steady him.
‘Mr. Ashford, you don’t need to apologize.”
‘But I do want to make one thing clear–as of today, I have no relationship with the Ashford family. Whatever happens to your company from here on out?
None of my concern.”
Harrison’s face darkens.
But he keeps his composure and turns to Sienna.
Officers, take her. She’s the one who causes this whole mess. Whatever she gets, we won’t lift a finger to help her.”
sienna’s eyes go wide. She screams.
Mr. Ashford, it wasn’t ME! Dom told me to do it! I just-”
‘SHUT UP!”
Harrison is livid.
“You think calling me ‘Mr. Ashford‘ changes anything?!”
‘I take you in when your parents die. Treat you like my own granddaughter. This family gives you everything, and this is how you pay us back?!”
“What? If you don’t control his mind and manipulate him, would he treat his fiancée like garbage? Would he pull this insane stunt?”
“You instigated all of this! You grabbed that phone and insulted a senior officiall You pressed the detonator! The Ashfords will not protect you!”
Listening to Harrison’s whole righteous act, I have to bite back a laugh.
Smart old master.
Throw Sienna under the bus. Make Dominic look like a victim. Shift all the blame.
And clearly, Sienna and Dominic both realize what he’s doing.

Chapter 6
Sienna goes ghost–white and just crumples, mumbling, “It’s not me, it’s not me. Please!”
Dominic’s eye twitches. He instinctively moves toward her-
But Harrison’s assistant grabs him.
“Sir, don’t be stupid!”
Harrison whips around, glares at his grandson with pure fury.
“And YOU!”
“I thought you were arrogant–turns out you’re just stupid.”
“You didn’t even know who she was, and you had the audacity to blow up a federal facility?!”
“You really thought the Ashfords were untouchable?!”
“Effective immediately, you are no longer the heir to Ashford Group.”
Dominic looks like he’s been slapped
‘Grandpa, you can’t–I was just trying to protect the family’s reputation-”
Harrison laughs bitterly.
Everything you’ve done today has DESTROYED this family.”
You’re not my grandson anymore–from now on, you’re just a regular employee under investigatio.”
When this is over, you serve your time, and when you get out, you grovel to Miss Sinclair.”
You’re whatever she needs you to be–husband, assistant, whatever. And don’t you dare use the Ashford name again.”
