Chapter 266 Lost Her Appetite
“Fwower! Nina want!” Nina’s loud, clear little voice couldn’t be ignored.
Jagger’s smile froze when he heard that little kid’s voice.
He looked down confusedly and saw Nina standing next to Amelia’s leg.
Nina was wearing a light blue dress, with her pretty round face tilted up talking to him.
“Nina have fwower?” To get a flower, she batted her eyes giving him her best “good girl” look.
Finished
Jagger’s smile disappeared. In a kind of mechanical voice, he asked Amelia, “Amelia? This… who is this?”
Amelia said, “My daughter. You can call her Nina. Nina, say hello.”
Listening to her mom, Nina grinned at Jagger. “Hi! Me Nina! I go school!”
Right after her enthusiastic little greeting, she touched her forehead. “I have fwower.”
She had already started her own conversation.
It took Jagger a few seconds to process that. “Nina… you’re very cute,” he said, trying to stay calm.
He said the quick compliment, then turned back to Amelia. “Amelia? Are you… married?” he asked.
Amelia shook her head. “Not yet.”
She and Benjamin had just started dating, and marriage wasn’t even on the table.
It was probably a long way off.
When he heard she wasn’t married, Jagger’s smile finally came back. “I’m not married either.”
He perked up, pulled a single rose from the bouquet, and handed it to Nina. “For you, Nina.”
Nina took it politely. “Tank you!”
After thanking him, she looked at the flower in her hand then at the huge bouquet, and blinked. “More fwower?”
Jagger chuckled and said, “Sure,” then gave her another one.
Seeing Nina about to ask for more after getting two, Amelia quickly covered her chubby mouth. “That’s enough, Nina. Those are his flowers, not yours,” she whispered.
Jagger overheard and laughed warmly, “It’s fine, Amelia. They were for you anyway. She can have as many as
she wants.”
Without waiting for Amelia to say anything about the flowers, he gestured for her to sit.
Once seated, Amelia asked the server for a high chair.
Amelia put Nina in the high chair, then took her backpack and opened it up so she could play with the toys inside.
