Daniel answered right away. On the other end, Erik asked directly, “You’re really going to help Nelson find his mom?”

“Nelson’s birthday wish yesterday was to have his mommy.

“I have to help him find her.

“That kid saved my Nina. I owe him this.”

Nelson’s wish might not have reached any “wish fairy,” but Benjamin, William, Chloe, and Daniel had all heard it clearly.

They were quietly working behind the scenes to make it come true.

Erik continued on the line, “Alright, got it. Trevor and Lester are friends. From what I know, Trevor did have a woman around him once.

“They were both abroad at the time. Lester definitely knows who she is. I’ll dig deeper for you.”

Daniel’s voice lit up with excitement. “Perfect.”

The two talked for quite a while before finally hanging up.

The curtains were drawn in the room, and the dim, cozy atmosphere was perfect for napping.

Daniel set his phone aside and prepared to lie down for quick rest.

But the moment he settled in, a small figure sat up behind him and spoke in a soft, eerie voice.

“Help Nelson find mommy?”

Daniel nearly jumped out of his skin. He shot upright.

“Nina! Why aren’t you asleep?!”

He was genuinely startled. He turned around, heart still facing.

There sat little Nina, eyes wide open and completely alet.

She hadn’t been sleeping at all-she’d been faking it!

“Un-coo Dan’el, I no sleep,” Nina confessed honestly. “I want go out.”
