Adriana had once read a gossip article saying that Moonridge Bay only hosted billionaires and a single night there cost at least hundreds of thousand dollars.

How much does one night here cost?she whispered, half out of curiosity.

You should ask how much your shared marital assets will increase every night you stay here,” Curtis said lightly, raising an eyebrow as he took her hand.

It took Adriana a moment to realize that Moonridge Bay was the Lincoln’s property.

Her ears went warm. Shared marital assets? She was just a contract wife. How could she even think about his wealth?

The dazzlingly luxurious hotel made Adriana feel like her soul had left her body. It was just too gorgeous.

The glass elevator was like a sightseeing lift, gliding smoothly through a world of extravagance.

Adriana could smell the money just from the air.

Sure enough, the higher a person was, the better the view they got to see.

She stared at Curtis with curiosity and Adriana fell into deep thought. He was truly handsome. He gave off a billionaireboss vibe in a suit and a hot model without one.

He had a great body and was tall.

Yet, a man who spent hundreds of thousands to stay in a hotel for one night could also go with her to eat few dollars street food.

So, what kind of person was Curtis, really?

Staring at me?The elevator doors slid open, but Adriana was still looking.

Does money make me look better?Curtis teased.

When he joked around, it made him feel more approachable, unlike the distance he had when he wasn’t speaking.

Adriana’s ears turned red as she followed him out.

Was she really going to sleep with him tonight?

Inside the room, her mind was a mess. She wasn’t paying attention and bumped right into his chest.

Take a shower and get some rest. You’ve had a long day! Curtis said on his own, telling Adriana to get some

rest.

Adriana’s eyes lit up. She was relieved that they didn’t have to do it that night.

Curtis, do you like kids?she asked, trying to start a normal conversation.

Chapter 60 The Family Dinner

Curtis had just come out of the bathroom, his hair still slightly wet.

He glanced at Adriana. Adriana was hiding under the blanket, tucked in perfectly straight, clearly still

nervous.

No,he said honestly.

Then, why do you still want a child?she asked quietly. Just for the sake of the Lincolns, to put your grandfather’s mind at ease?

Curtis fell silent and didn’t answer.

Adriana realized she might have gone too far and scooted over toward the edge of the bed, leaving two- thirds of the space for Curtis.

Not afraid of falling off?he asked, sitting on the edge and glancing her way.

Adriana was too nervous to turn around. She wiggled in the blanket toward the middle of the bed.

Curtis chuckled softly, finished his work, and turned off the lights.

It was her first time sharing a bed with a man she barely knew and her heart was pounding fast.

She’d been sleepy on the plane, but now she couldn’t close her eyes.

Curtis was true to his word and didn’t touch her. They lay in the same bed without any physical contact.

When she woke up the next morning, the space in the middle of the bed was still empty.

We’re going to the Lincold Estate later to see my grandfather,he said while buttoning his shirt calmly.

Okay,Adriana murmured, watching his back from the bed.

Was this man really my husband? Even if it was only on paper.

Mr. Curtis, Mr. Harold has arranged a family dinner to welcome you and Ms. Xander, the driver said when he came to pick them up.

Adriana thought it meant Harold valued her and wanted to make her feel welcome.

But Curtis’s expression wasn’t very pleasant.

He took out his phone and immediately called Harold. Grandpa, I told you, Adriana is timid. Don’t scare her.

As a woman of the Lincolns, she can’t handle being scared by others but only by me?He snapped, clearly displeased.

Grandpa, a family dinner is an outdated tradition,Curtis said as he frowned.

This is the Lincolnsfamily rule. If you want to marry her, she has to respect it,” Harold said, then he hung
