My Alpha Let Me Raise His Bastard—Did He Forget I’m Royal novel Chapter 5

Chapter 5

The day after I left, Draven woke up in the healing ward.

He struggled to sit up. Felt completely drained. Tried to summon his wolf spirit—nothing. Tried again—still nothing. His power had dropped to Beta level. Maybe even lower.

“Shit…”

He was breathing hard. Couldn’t believe it. That Alpha aura, that suffocating presence that made people bow down—gone. Now he was lying here like some fragile porcelain doll that’d shatter if you touched it.

A nurse came in. Saw he was awake. Turned and ran.

A few minutes later, a bunch of old men stormed into the room. Thalorin led the charge. Face black as a pot.

“Draven!” He walked up to the bed. Voice shaking. “What the hell did you do? News about the Moonscarred Pack revoking protection is everywhere! Rogues are attacking the border!”

Draven’s face went white.

“The elders are already meeting.” Another elder shouted. “Without royal protection, we’re just a piece of meat! All the packs around us are watching. Ready to pounce any second!”

“That’s impossible…” Draven mumbled. “Elysia’s just throwing a tantrum…”

“A tantrum?” Thalorin laughed coldly. “You know how many packs are waiting to take a bite out of us?”

“Go apologize. Now!” The elder pointed right at his nose. “Go beg her. Get on your knees and beg! Do whatever it takes to calm her down!”

Draven clenched his fists. But feeling how pathetic his strength was now, he let go.

“I’ll go.” He said. “I’ll handle it.”

The men slammed the door on their way out. The room went quiet. Just Draven sitting on the bed alone. He stared at the ceiling. Face blank.

The door opened again.

“Elysia’s just mad right now.” Draven started convincing himself. “She loved me for five years. How could she just turn on me like that? She’s just trying to scare me.”

Something flashed in Lilith’s eyes. Too fast. No one caught it.

“What about the pack…”

“She’ll cool off in a few days.” Draven’s tone was confident. “I know her. She’s soft. No way she’d really let the pack fall apart.”

Lilith bit her lip. “Really?”

“Of course.” Draven forced a smile.

“She’s just throwing a fit. Once she’s done, she’ll come crawling back begging me to make up.”
