My Alpha Let Me Raise His Bastard—Did He Forget I’m Royal novel Chapter 8

Chapter 8

Her screams lasted all night.

By the end, her voice was completely shot. Couldn’t even scream anymore. Just this wheezing, rattling sound coming from her throat.

Draven walked out of the dungeon covered in blood. Face, hands, clothes—splattered everywhere. Some dried. Some still wet.

His expression was weird. Couldn’t tell if it was numb or crazy.

He went back and showered. Put on that black suit I first saw him in.

Back when we had our first date. He wore that exact suit. Stood under the moonlight waiting for me.

He picked up a bouquet of white roses. My old favorite.

And a ring. Custom-made. Ten times bigger than the wedding ring he gave me back then. Covered in diamonds. Gaudy as hell.

He got in the car and drove toward the Moonscarred Pack territory. Muttering the whole way.

“Elysia will forgive me… I avenged her… she’ll forgive me…”

Already fantasizing about me throwing myself into his arms.

“She loved me so much. She’ll definitely go soft…”

When the car stopped at the edge of royal territory, he saw something.

In the garden. Sunlight pouring down. A tall man knelt on one knee in front of me. Holding flowers. The guy was good-looking. Strong features. Powerful presence. Clearly an Alpha.

Tiberius. That young Alpha of the Stormbrand Pack.

I sat on a bench in the garden. Sunlight falling on me. Like I was glowing.

“Princess, please give me a chance.” Tiberius’s voice was smooth. Deep. Magnetic.

Draven’s sanity evaporated.

“No! She’s MINE!”

He charged over. Shoved Tiberius aside.

“Get lost! Don’t touch my Luna!”

Tiberius frowned at this lunatic who just appeared.

“Who the hell are you?”

“I’m her mate!” Draven’s eyes were bloodshot. “Elysia is my Luna!”

He forgot his power was already gone. Right now, he was weaker than a Beta.

Tiberius raised his hand. A strong force sent him flying.

“You?” Tiberius looked down at the thing on the ground. Cold smirk on his face.

“A powerless piece of trash?”

Draven was flat on the ground. Total mess. But he still crawled up. Crawled to my feet. Grabbed my leg.

“Elysia, I know I was wrong!” Tears all over his face. Snot running down. Smeared everywhere.

“I beat Lilith to a pulp! I threw Mortis out! I avenged you! Come back with me, please? I love you!”

His hands shook as he held up that ring.

“Look, I got you a new ring. Ten times bigger than before! And white roses—your favorite!”

I looked down at him.

Face covered in snot and tears. Pathetic as a dog.

This was the man I loved for five years? This was the once-mighty Alpha of the Shadowrend Pack?

Now crawling at my feet like a dog wagging its tail.

“Draven.”

My voice was ice-cold.

“You think you get to talk about revenge?”

I stood up slowly.

“You were the biggest accomplice.”

I lifted my foot. Kicked him right in the face.

Heel straight to the nose.

Crack.

Draven’s eyes flared.

“What did you say?!”

He tried to shift. Tried to charge. But with that pathetic bit of power left, he couldn’t even shift properly. His body barely arched up before Tiberius slapped him in the chest. Sent him flying again.

“That’s all you’ve got?”

Tiberius shook his head.

“No wonder some ordinary woman played you like a fool.”

Draven lay on the ground. Blood pouring from his mouth. But his eyes were still on me.

“Elysia… I don’t care if you hate me… I won’t give up… I’ll keep chasing you until you forgive me…”

I looked at him.

“Draven. You’ll never understand.”

“The moment you chose to betray me, we were over.”

“Forever.”

I took Tiberius’s arm.

“Let’s go.”

Tiberius nodded. “Yes, Princess.”

We turned and left together.

His voice came from behind. Hoarse. Desperate.

“Elysia… Elysia…”

I didn’t look back.

He reached out. Tried to grab something. But there was nothing in the air.

Only his own blood. Slowly spreading across the ground.
