Katherine could already imagine what her three kids would go through if they ever ended up in the Grant household.

“Katherine…

“Mom, enough!” Lucas cut in sharply, his handsome face dark and severe. “What happened before was my fault. I didn’t fulfill my responsibilities as her husband.”

“Lucas?”

Both Sarah and Rachel stared at Lucas, never expecting him to say such a thing.

Was he actually taking Katherine’s side?

Rachel bit her lip and softened her voice. “No, Lucas, it wasn’t your fault. It was me. If I hadn’t been so needy five years ago…”

She reached out and hugged him, sobbing against his chest. She looked utterly consumed with guilt.

Lucas lowered his eyes and lifted a hand, pushing Rachel away from him.

Rachel looked up at him. Tears glistened in her beautiful eyes-a beauty in distress, heartbreakingly lovely.

Katherine felt sick.

The two of them and their act. Even a trash bag couldn’t hold as much as they could fake.

Beep! Beep!

Two sharp honks.

Katherine glanced over. It was Megan’s car.

Megan probably wasn’t at ease, so she’d come back to pick her up.

Katherine ignored all of them, turned around, and got straight in the car.

Rachel was still sobbing in hiccups, but from an angle no one could see, a dangerous chi filled her eyes.

Katherine, you lay a hand on me, I’ll lay a hand on your kid.

She actually wanted to see Katherine fighting the Grants for her children-see the children taken away by force, see mother and daughter torn apart.

“Lucas, Mrs. Grant, I actually discovered something a while ago, but I never found the right time to tell you. It’s very important, and I think need to say it now.”

Sarah asked. “What is it?”

“It’s about Katherine, and the babies she had back then.”

At the word “babies,” Sarah’s brow tightened. “The babies? You mean Katherine’s pregnancy from five years ago?”

“Yes.” Rachel nodded.

“You’ve seen her child, haven’t you? Where?”

Rachel took Sarah’s hand. “Mrs. Grant, please don’t get worked up. Hear me out. I saw Katherine with a child, and that child is at her house right now.”

“Really?” Sarah gripped Rachel’s hand. “You really saw her with a child?”

“I did. Mrs. Grant. How could I lie to you about something like this? I really did see it.”

“When?” Lucas’s eyes were deep and dark, not quite believing.

He’d already checked-Katherine had no children around her. How could Rachel have seen

one?

“Yesterday. I saw it with my own eyes. Sarah, that’s a Grant child. It’s wrong for Katherine to keep it all to herself.”

Sarah’s heart surged with excitement.

She knew it. She just knew Katherine hadn’t ended the pregnancy.

“Lucas, go! What are you still standing there for Go to Katherine’s house right now an our grandchild home.”

Sarah was obsessed with the idea of a grandson

Lucas’s gaze turned grave.

Lucas remained skeptical because of the constant disappointments.

But seeing how certain Rachel was, a spark of hope lit up in his cold heart.

Sarah couldn’t wait another second. She insisted on going to Katherine’s place immediately to bring the child back.

In the car, Sarah was giddy, saying over and over that the child had to come back to the Grants.

This was exactly what Rachel wanted.

Once Katherine’s kid fell into her hands, she would find every way to torment her.

“Mrs. Grant, Katherine has been hiding the child. If we just show up, she definitely won’t open the door. Why don’t we bring a locksmith That way, she can’t hide the child again.”

Rachel’s suggestion made sense. Sarah praised her for being clever and immediately had someone arrange a locksmith.

When they reached Katherine’s door, the locksmith arrived at the same time. Rachel smirked.
