Chapter 47
“Elara.” Marcus’s voice came from behind her. Holding her door open.
She freed herself from his grip and entered her room fully.
She started dropping the shopping bags on the floor. Her purse on the dresser. Trying to ignore him. Trying to pretend her hand wasn’t still stinging from the slap she had given him.
Marcus covered the distance between them in just two strides.
He caught her before she could move further into the room.
He didn’t pull her gently. He jerked her back against his chest until her spine hit his abs. It was hard, a solid pull that almost sent her to the floor.
“Don’t walk away from me El,” he said. His voice low, soft and at the same time dangerous.
“Let go.”
“No.” His hand gripped her wrist. Tight enough to hold her but not tight enough to hurt.
He spun her around to face him.
They were inches apart now. Close enough that she could feel his breath on her own skin. Close enough that she could see the anger in his eyes, and something else, something darker, hungrier, like he was about to devour her.
His hand came up. His thumb pressed against her lower lip. Silencing the words before they could leave her throat.
“Marcus….”
He kissed her then.
He started soft and passionate at first, almost gentle, starting with just her lower lip. His lips moving against hers like he was trying to prove a point. Like he was claiming something that belonged to him.
Then it changed.
The kiss grew harder. More desperate, he started moving from her upper lip to her lower lip, continuously like that. One of his hands was holding her neck making her look up at him. His teeth caught her lower lip as he bit down just slightly. Enough to make her gasp. Enough to make heat flood through her body.
His hand moved to her breast. Squeezed through the fabric of her crop top, he rolled and pinched her nipple softly like he owned her. Like she was his to touch however he wanted.
Elara’s hands instinctively went to his chest. Gathered his shirt in her hand, she was trying to push him away. Trying to create distance. But her fingers were also dragging him closer. Pulling him against her like her body had a mind of its own.
“This is your punishment,” Marcus said. His voice was dark, possessive and dominant. She felt the pressure forming under her thighs now.
“For disrespecting me. For walking away.” He said.
Elara was lost at first. Couldn’t process what he meant. Couldn’t think clearly with his hands on her breast and his lips so
close to hers.
