Chapter 374
“How are Owen’s old pack members feeling?” Allison asks as we get food and sit down to eat.
“Nervous, I think, which I expected. They don’t know Jake and barely know Letti, if at all. They went from Owen to Robin, and you couldn’t get two more different Alphas. So, now, they just don’t know what to expect and I’m sure that while they want to go home, they’re afraid.”
“I wonder how Jake and Letti will respond to that. I mean, they can’t ignore that how their potential pack members feel or their real fear of what they will be like as Alpha and Luna. I mean, truly, Jake and Letti probably don’t know yet themselves. I’m thankful I had Kayce,” she says, smiling at her mate. He looks up from his conversation with
Robin and winks at her.
“He’s helped me so much. I mean, I’m the daughter of a Beta, but I learned my mom’s duties, not my Luna’s. I wasn’t included in their conversations or meetings, so I never really understood how things were assigned or how they worked as a team. It’s been very eye opening for me.”
“And I think that’s what we can do for Letti and what Robin, Kayce and the other Alphas can do for Jake. We’ve learned how to be Lunas and while it may not be exactly the same in their pack, we can give them all the things we’ve learned, how we’ve implemented them into our packs and then they can choose which ones they want to implement and which ones don’t work for them,” I say.

Allison smiles at me without saying anything.
“What?” I laugh not sure where her smile is coming from.
She leans in and hugs me. “I’m just so glad you found us that day. You’re the best friend I’ve ever had and even though you’re an Alpha female, you still don’t see how incredible you are.”
I laugh as I hug her. “I’m sure Robin would disagree with you.”
“Actually, Robin agrees wholeheartedly with her. For someone who is so astute about others, you don’t see yourself very accurately, Nikki,” my mate says walking up.
“What do you mean? I see myself,” I argue.
“But you don’t,” Allison insists. “You’re so worried about being a trendsetter that you don’t even realize that you’re changing the world.”
I snort. “That seems a little dramatic.”
“Name one other person who’s written a new law, Nikki,” she says seriously.
I shrug. “No one wants that crappy job.”
“And you probably don’t either, but you do it anyway,” Kayce says, sitting beside his mate and wrapping an arm around her.
“The laws don’t change unless a new one is written and the majority of Alphas agree on it, my love. You’re the only one who has written a new law in our lifetime. And you haven’t just written one. You’re

working on a second and threatening more to come. It doesn’t mean the laws will pass, but it does mean that everyone has to think about how the current laws are written and if that’s really how we want our packs and our society to be run.”
I frown at my mate and turn to look at my friends. Allison nods at me. “You’re pretty spectacular. You may not be setting the trends, but you‘ re implementing them into law. To me, that’s more important. You, more than any of us, are making things better for our pups.”
“That’s not true. We’re all making huge changes together. You can’t say that what I’m doing is more important than what Hunter and Sophie have done.”
“At the very least, it’s AS important,” Kayce says, pushing more food in front of his mate.
“I’m just glad that you’re willing to do it. None of the rest of us have ever taken the time to think about writing new laws,” Robin says.
“I actually like it,” I say.
“Thank the goddess! The job is yours,” Kayce says, making all of us laugh.
