"That bitch! Why doesn’t she just drop dead! If I ever run into her again, I swear I’ll kill her!"
At Club DL, Vivian Mason was drinking with a gloomy Claire Clark.
After a few drinks, Claire Clark had cursed Cecelia Archer and eight generations of her ancestors.
"I fucking studied my ass off for so many years, left home to go abroad and scraped by for so long, all for a decent job, right? But her! In one move, she wiped out all my hard work! You didn’t see her today, how shameless she was. Every time I think about it, I want to curse her all over again!"
Vivian Mason swirled the red wine in her glass, listening to Claire’s tirade with matching indignation.
"I told you she was bad news... You’re right. After all these years of hard work, she’s destroyed everything you’ve built. You can’t let her off the hook so easily."
Cursing was one thing, but when it came to actually getting revenge on Cecelia Archer, Claire Clark was fresh out of ideas.
"I’m so furious I can’t even think straight. Vivian, you’re the smart one. Help me figure out how to deal with her."
Vivian Mason mulled it over for a moment. "You said she’s latched onto someone powerful now, and this guy is handsome and capable? Do you have a picture?"
"I didn’t get one. But the nurses definitely took some. Why?"
"Sis, here’s what I’m thinking. Didn’t you say she has two men protecting her now? What if we snatch both of them away..."
Claire Clark’s eyes lit up. "You mean..."
But her excitement quickly faded.
She wanted to win over Damien Vaughn, of course, but she had no opportunity.
’That damned man. He treasures his body more than any woman, won’t even let me touch him.’
’I used to be able to call him once in a while and act cute, but now? The company won’t let me near him, and he personally told Director Hill to fire me...’
She couldn’t bring herself to tell Vivian Mason about these humiliating details, so she just kept drinking.
"Tell me your plan in detail."
Vivian Mason smiled and leaned against her shoulder.
"There’s not much to say. Sis, let me just ask you one thing. Do you know how Cecelia Archer is better at handling men than you are?"
On that topic, Claire Clark genuinely had no idea.
’I’m not any less attractive than Cecelia Archer. In fact, I know how to dress better, and my figure is way better than hers. The more I think about it, the more unfair it seems!’
"Why?"
"Because of the child," Vivian Mason said with a seductive smile.
"It’s been so many years; you should have a child with President Vaughn too. Older men all love children, especially adorable little daughters."
Those words were like a sudden ray of light, clearing the fog for Claire Clark.
’That’s right! I’ve been so worried about Damien Vaughn finding out that Cecelia Archer had his daughter, but why didn’t I ever think of having one with him myself!’
’Boy or girl, it would be a child of the Vaughn Family! If I had his child, would I still need to worry about not being able to talk to Damien Vaughn?’
’Vivian Mason really is smart!’
A plan, identical to one from four years ago, quickly formed in Claire Clark’s mind. Suddenly, losing her job didn’t seem like a big deal anymore. The two women cheerfully began to research Shane Grant.
Using the photos taken by the nurses, they found Shane Grant’s identity online. Vivian Mason was so excited she could barely contain herself, wishing she could make a move on him that very night.
"Alright, you seem to be in a much better mood. I have some things to take care of back home, so I can’t stay with you. Sis, I’m heading out."
Claire Clark was also eager to find Damien Vaughn, so the two exchanged a perfunctory goodbye.
After Vivian Mason left, Claire Clark called the waiter in to store her leftover alcohol, paid the bill, and had just stepped out of the private room when she saw a familiar figure.
"Damien?"
He seemed to have stepped out to make a phone call and was just turning around after putting his phone in his pocket.
