My Deceased Wife Wants a Divorce (Hannah) novel Chapter 418

"Hannah, how dare you put a listening device in my room? Do you know that's illegal? I'm going to call the police and have you arrested! You're finished! I'm sending you to jail, I swear I'm calling the police!"

Cherry, cornered and humiliated, shrieked and roared, trying to drown out the evidence of her wrongdoing with the sheer volume of her voice.

"Go ahead. I don't care. But first, you need to explain yourself. Why did you tell our family's business to outsiders? You were so convincing with your denials just a moment ago. Is there anything else you'd like to deny now?"

Hannah remained unfazed by the threats, crossing her arms and leaning back casually in her dining chair.

"Why should I deny it? There's nothing to deny! I was threatened! She forced me to do it!"

With the evidence laid bare, Cherry knew further denials were pointless, so she decided to confess everything.

"Is that so? Well, if she forced you, then I'll certainly have to get justice for you. I would never want to misunderstand a good person."

Hannah raised an eyebrow, picked up her phone, pulled up Mary's contact, and dialed the number right in front of everyone, putting the call on speaker.

When Mary saw the incoming call from Hannah, she assumed Hannah was ready to negotiate and answered immediately.

"Hannah, you've come to your senses, have you? Let me tell you, take down that trending post right now, and I might consider not coming after you."

Hannah's expression was placid. "We'll talk about the post later. I have a question for you first. Did you threaten Cherry to do your bidding?"

"She said you threatened her. You threatened someone from the Temple family. We need to get this straightened out!"

Complete silence from Mary's end.

Cherry, meanwhile, kept her head down, afraid to even breathe too loudly.

"Hannah, I'm asking you, what is it that you want!" Mary finally shouted. "All this trouble, isn't it just because you want a huge payout from our family? I'm telling you, you want money? Fine! Take down that damn post immediately and I'll give you the money, you hear me? If you keep this up, forget money, I can send you to prison!"

"Sure, go ahead. Find a way to put me in jail. You should know, even before I was acknowledged by the Temples, I didn't care about your son's money. I barely spent any of it in three years, let alone now that I'm back with the Temple family. It's not like the Temples are any less wealthy than you are. Don't act like I've never seen money before. Besides, you must be feeling awfully guilty right now. Why else would you be trying to change the subject?"
