The man ignored them, his expression grim as he prepared to start the helicopter.
Sandra and Owen struggled frantically.
Suddenly, they felt a pair of hands reach for them from behind. Just as they turned, they felt a sharp prick.
Sandra caught a glimpse of the person behind them jabbing something into their necks.
Before she could even ask what it was, they both slumped into unconsciousness.
"They're unconscious, Mr. Rosenberg. We're taking off now and should reach our destination in three hours."
"Good. Once you arrive, hand them over to our contacts. And make sure you're not followed. It needs to look like they're still in Kiron."
"Understood!"
Quennel stared grimly at the video playing on the screen. It was a recording of his negotiation with Sandra, right here in this very study.
"You knew from the start he was just an orphan they brought back, that he had no real power. You knew all that, yet you first refused the marriage, then agreed, and now, at the eleventh hour, you're backing out again? What do you take the Rosenberg family for?"
Quennel demanded, looking up at Sandra from his seat on the sofa.
"I'm just looking out for myself. And I'm not here to debate this with you. I know you're interested in the girl he brought back. I can help you get her, but you have to help me first."
Sandra forced a calm demeanor, facing the ruthless and intimidating man.
Quennel picked up the vial, swirling its contents with a look of amusement.
"So I drug Lionel's drink. What's your next move?" he asked.
"I'll get some random woman into his room, then tip off the press. When they find them together, he'll be forced to marry her to save face, getting him out of his engagement to me."
Sandra smirked. "And Hannah will end up with you. Even if she won't marry you, she'll be yours. You can take videos, photos—whatever you need to blackmail her. You could even lock her away somewhere. Believe me, if I could get to Lionel myself, I wouldn't be here asking for your help."
Sandra laid out her plan, waiting smugly for his response. After all, this was the perfect opportunity for Quennel to get Hannah.
"To think that Ms. Woods, always praised for her gentle nature, could be so utterly depraved. It seems Lionel was completely blind to your true character."
